View Full Version : Audi A4 S Line Headlights

I want to do something new with my headlights, I want to get like the newer model ones but none of them seem to fit and I think it's because my car is S Line. Could that be the problem? If anyone can help me please let me knowhttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160519/905d932828e2f1cca8fab4488b8cfcd8.jpg Also if you know anyone that could put the led bar under my current headlights that would be cool as well. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160519/db500c8f5aa954c3013c7999d8fb663a.jpg something like this.

I'm also interested, but shouldn't the headlights be the same, s-line or not?

That's what I thought but I ordered B7 headlights and they didn't fit whatsoever

PM Phil aka @Fly300kts he will make you a set of these headlights.

Btw : A4, A4 Slines, S4 and RS4 all share the same headlight shape. The only difference is Halogen or Xenons.

Hugh@EuropaParts
05-19-2016, 07:41 AM
The headlights you ordered are for vehicles with halogen headlights. You can do halogen to xenon (which you have) but you can't do xenon to halogen (because it's a downgrade).

Kufatec sells a harness that allows users to go from halogen to xenon...

The headlights you pictured are custom made by Phil... Fly300kts. Your only bet is to send him a PM and see if he has any available.

Phil (afaik) can make just the LED strip that can then be mounted inside your bixenon housing. He also provides the necessary load resistors and instructions on how to do the whole process.
Again, this was a couple years ago that he was doing this so he might have changed his offerings. He's typically really good with PM's so if hes not responding he's most likely busy as hell. Keep in mind that ONLY his LED retrofit kit will cost MORE than the entire China made housing with LED's - There is a reason for that. His shit is worth it.

I wouldn't attempt to get aftermarket China headlights and retrofit them, they are very cheaply made and don't look all that hot. I had them, loved them at first, hated them after a month and upgraded to Phil's V4. Learn from my mistake!

Disgusting might be a strong word but not to knock on the craftsmanship that goes into them, they do look el cheapo to the untrained eye... Honestly, If Phil's car wasn't so sexy overall or he wasn't as respected in the community, people would flame him left and right. Again, "disgusting" isn't the term I'd use.

1. Go Bills. Fuck the dolphins, browns, and the patriots. The jets are just.. there. That's okay.

2. Don't say a damn thing about 4 superbowls in a row. Don't even mention 4 anythings in a row.

3. I think this community is pretty good. We give each other shit, sure. Most of it is in good fun. For example, schweini is a bitch. However, sometimes 9/10 people think what you did to your car looks awful. And I, for one, feel a personal responsibility to tell you that. Take it all with a grain of salt. And many grains of hops. In liquid form.

Edit: shit, this thread was about headlights. Those rhd cut out ones are dope. But in my opinion, the styling of our cars doesn't fit more modern led strips. Personal choice.

The Osram headlight is very high quality and available in LHD cut off. The lights are sold in quite a lot of countries here in Europe and all (except UK) are LHD. Osram also has a list on their website where these lights are sold. Next to that I am following a thread on a German forum where quite a few guys have them installed and like them a lot.

Please keep in mind that these lights are meant as a replacement for OEM halogen lights, not HIDs!. Wiring is not compatible. Also note that the lightbulb type used in this headlight is a 25W D8S model. And not a 35W D1S model the OEM HIDs use. Light output indeed is a little less but because of newer lenses used not as much as the watt reduction would suggest, luckily. Reason why Osram chose this route is because of European law requiring automatic headlight leveling equipment AND headlight washers installed when running 35W HIDs (when factory installed all HID equipped cars come that way and when you upgrade yourself to OEM HIDs you have to install headlight leveling and washers as well otherwise you will fail the annual test, at least in Germany)
Law was setup this way as a way to prevent blinding others on the road.

In that German thread it was mentioned that a few guys with these Osram headlights got a ticket for not having the leveling/washer systems. Hence quite a discussion in that thread, lol.

Btw 4 things in a row I like are the 4 rings on my grill! :)

supple
05-20-2016, 08:36 PM
Bazer, I actually remember looking at pictures of the Osrams awhile back and they did have LHD. However, the European LHD cutoff is different from U.S. You fellas have a really high cutoff on one side if I remember correctly.
