Curious if anyone has any experience with this particular ebay grill - http://m.ebay.com/itm/262427965403. The price seems too good to be true but it appears to be the better quality one that I've read about around this forum with the emblem holder incorporated and the tighter mesh behind it. I wish the trim was the same brushed silver as the mirrors and window trim but finding a b8.5 grille with silver trim has proven nearly impossible so chrome may have to do. Thought I'd check for reviews before pulling the trigger on this as I'd rather wait and or spend more on one if a better option exists.

Can't comment about that particular one, but I bought mine on eBay as well:

Looks like you got a mildly used version of the more expensive ones I've seen with the RS4 logo. These are going for more like $260-$270 new and are the other option I'm considering. Can't seem to find any of these with silver trim either and apart from the RS4 logo (which I'm not interested in) they look almost identical to the cheaper one I posted. Nice find, looks great!

If you are spending $250 is HIGHLY advise you check out the USP motorsports one.
I recently just put one on my "S5" from them if you don't mind me using that as a example. I can at least get you some nice closeup pictures. They have the same brand ones i believe for the B8.5 S4. Perfect fit OEM for AND came with the plastic bumper rail guard cover so no spray painting or or plasti dipping. I refuse to use plasti dip on my S5 lol. It also came with the rings already on it. It's really nice for the money. Here's a few pics of it on my S5. Came with a euro plate holder as well which I didn't use. I'm MORE than happy for the quality for what I paid. As you can see from the picture the mesh is rather thick not thin like some eBay grilles.

This is the brand it was from USP motorsports. I believe their grille & carbon spoilers are all this brand. Mine was originally $299 but was on sale for $269. And as a audizine member there was like another 10% coupon they gave out. $250 to my door in 3 days. Can't beat that. I believe the B8 S4 & B.5 S4 grille's are a tad cheaper too for some reason.
I was hesitant as well having aluminum window trim and mirrors. But on my deep sea blue color with the all black grille looks 10x's better than the stock faux chrome or whatever it was. The Audi rings actually flow nice with the "chrome" fog trim surrounds & the matte aluminum bumper lip.. But I'm going to order the matching fog grille inserts soon which are all black. But I'm leaving my mirrors aluminum as they are matte silver which I like. Looks great IMO.

Hmmm, for whatever reason the B8.5 S4 one from them DOES not come with the plastic crash guard rail cover. At least its not pictured. Odd.

I have the grill installed on my b8.5 right now. It was a pretty good fit when installing, but once I had the number back on I took my rings off of the oem grill, when I went to put it on this grill it they were to small. Turns out our b8.5 have 10.75" wide rings but this grill was designed for 11.22" wide. I contacted the people and they were super friendly and made sure I got either black or chrome rings to fit the grill as soon as possible. So I'd say I couldn't complain, I would just make sure they send the 11.22" rings with your grill.

The quality of the usp grille looks good and I like the crash bar cover to avoid plasti-dip (Don't really want to "spray paint" anything on my S4 either). However, they don't even offer one with chrome trim which is my second choice to silver trim that matches the mirrors as my car is a dark color (Estoril Blue) and I think the contrast on the trim would better match the rest of the trim on the car since I'm not going to wrap the window trim (any time soon).

Thanks for the info! I kind of assumed the rings were a slightly different size on this grille based on some other threads I read so I figured I might have to order some larger ones to go with it. Glad to confirm that, and to hear that this grille seems to be working out for people. Even after buying larger replacement rings it's still cheaper than other options and then you don't have to worry about getting your stock rings out of your grille anyway.

Ya turned out to be a pretty good choice for me. And maybe they'll give you a discount on some rings since it would be assumed that the OEM rings would fit into any other S4 grill

I hear ya I went through the same thing. But I didn't want to chance a cheaper eBay grille only to waste my time or potentially money. When I researched the USP was HIGHLY recommended with fit & quality.
My color is actually "close" to Estoril blue in certain lighting. It's deep sea blue Pearl. I looked for a aluminum outside but couldn't find any, & I absolutely HATED the faux chrome trim on my stock grille. I don't mine the window trim or mirror caps as they are a "matte" aluminum however.
So I gave up looking & after I installed I really liked the black contrast on the deep sea blue even without the aluminum trim surround. I do plan to potentially wrap only my window trim ONLY but not the mirror caps, kinda break it up a bit. I've had it on for a two weeks and already have gotten tons of compliments. Even my older neighbors told me it looks better than the stock chrome one hahaha. But I understand is you want it to fully flow. I'd personally want black if I couldn't get matte aluminum as the chrome will still be much shiner than the matte window trim & mirror caps & "technically" be mis matched in OCD terms lol.
This is the color of my car. I looked FOREVER for a "quality" grille with the aluminum surround but no luck & wasn't settling for the chrome. Only way was to get a OEM which was big money! I can spend that on the car elsewhere. [wrench]

That is a pretty similar color...love it! You've appealed to my OCD side and given me something to think about. Maybe all black really does flow better than throwing in chrome trim on the front with the silver trim on the sides. Why can't I find a post facelift grille with matching silver trim anywhere. Someone needs to start making them this way, it only makes sense.

I looked forever! If you found one it would be a gamble potentially if it's a eBay or whatever version with no real feedback or reviews on it. I was worried about the same thing with it "flowing" but when I installed it looked great! The all black looked more premium & cleaner over the faux chrome IMO. The chrome rings add a nice touch to break it up I wouldn't do black rings on mine. It kinda looks dare I say OEM+.
I need to attach my OEM grille badge soon. The red flag part of it should also do a nice job breaking the black mesh up. I thought I would run out & have the window trim wrapped. But honestly I'm in no hurry now, I'm more worried about putting my S5 grille badge on just to break the black mesh up a bit. [emoji106] Even the fiancé said the new grill looks WAY better haha. If anything the mirrors stand out more over the window trim. But again I think the aluminum mirrors look good adding contrast to break up the deep sea blue & the all black grille IMO.

Check out the "random pictures of your car " DannyDyn's side profile picture he posted today. His car looks awesome in estoril blue with the all black grille and he still has window aluminum window trim & mirror caps. Love his wheels too, very tasteful setup he has [wrench]

Yeah, those wheels are perfect. Grille looks good too, but can't help feeling like it would look like it "belonged" more with matching trim. Wonder if there is a paint or vinyl wrap option that could be applied to a higher quality grille like the USP before install to match the stock mirrors/window trim.

Otherwise the all black grille and then wrapping the window trim in gloss black might be the way to go for me. Considering I really don't want to put cheap parts on my $50k plus luxury sports car my options are limited. I might just have to go for a higher quality all black grille, get it on and see how badly I want to wrap the window trim afterwards.

Shortly after posting this thread a B8.5 S4 mesh grille suddenly appeared on ebay that actually had the silver trim (which previously seemed impossible to find) and was listed at a great price, so I snatched one up. Got it a few days ago and had a chance to install it today. Install was a breeze. Everything lined up perfectly and snapped/screwed right in, and although it didn't mention it in the ad, it came with the new larger rings for the grille which fit perfectly (no gap). Install took me about 3 hrs. including painting the crash bar with 2 coats primer and 4 coats rocker panel/undercarriage paint, putting black screen behind the grille, gluing S4 logo in, and relocating the homelink module under the "intake shroud". Could have done it quicker but this was my first time removing the bumper so I took my time. Thought I would update and provide the link for the grille I found because I was impressed with it's quality for the price, and I know how hard it was for me to find a B8.5 grille with silver trim.
Excuse the crappy iPhone pic and the filthy car (obviously getting this grille on was higher priority than washing her today).
