i got used to the power of the K04.

i was hoping this day wouldnt come, at least not this soon.

i guess im saving for the pc-16 & injectors now.

how far can the stock mani be ported? i was think of a P&P, but if there isnt much to take out, i wouldnt want to waste my time.

I hear you.

K04 with larger injectors isn't fast enough anymore.

I still need the exhaust system and FMIC though so theres a little more power to be had

hmmm, put a stock ecu in for a few days, then go back to yours... you will feel it all over again

why not gut this cat like you did the other one?

krispy kreme kompressor's are for chumps. there's really not much restriction in the turbo mani at this point. as long as the gasket and flanges are matched. you gotta think at this point. Throw down $800 for a little torque spike or get a real turbo.

u will never be satisfied with ur power, i want more power and i thought once i reached 300 i would be happy but i must have more

1.8.se7en - its a sport cat i want to sell it, no point ruining a good cat.

bitter- i thought(still thinking) about the t3/t04e swap or even gt28r, but i dont want to give up the low end grunt, i am autocrossing it.

AFOUR_PLAY

offroader1006 love the low end grunt too.

I've considered the GT2X turbo with K04 programing and larger injectors and running an adj. FPR and MBC.

just considering it though.

offroader1006
11-08-2005, 05:55 PM
i thought the same, but the power curves of the turbos are too far off. the GT has a harder spike, where the KKK has a larger low end, falling off when rpms go up

gt28r is a fine autocrosser. have you gotten a ride in a stage 3? It spools pretty fawking fast. Anything over 3k will spool instantly. It won't make full boost instantly but you don't exactly want that autoxing.

Offroader, with my old ko4 setup, i had my mani bored, ported, and polished, and ran a highflow cat, and this was all on the just the reg software and ran 14.3. It will be on Awes website here soon. I was the same about giving up the ko4 torque, but the stage III is a beast in terms of size to the ko4.

haha you know what really sucks? I am used to the power of my T28 and it feels normal to me now, other people get in the car and shit. and my S4 feels slow.

i would like a real turbo please...you got one for me? [:D]

gt28rs seems optimum, just software/ecu is an issue for me being in IL...we'll see i pay my car off next month, finally after 2yrs 8months later. i'm doing body kit and suspension now, well buying it and waiting till after winter to put it all on. not sure i will sink any more money into the A4 after that.

i'm thinking i just save the money keep the a4 for the winter and go JDM....350zTT....and then off to american muscle with a 56 chevy. i'd like to have one of each...i think i will always have an audi...prolly step up to the s4 and then keep the 350zTT and 56 chevy as summer toy cars.

I've always heard about this great low-end grunt with the K04. Approximately what speed does this grunt run out? The reason I ask is because if I'm not mistaken the K04 will boost fine up to 6k rpms. Well that's well over 100mph in 5th. Just curious.

no i do not...i mean 350z with an APS Twin Turbo Kit....that is by far the best one on the market for the 350z...and they also make a single turbo for it as well....either way...i would only go APS if it came to a FI system being put on the car. the APS TT kit is 7500 for 400-410rwhp and has quality bar none. their single turbo is around 5800 and pushes 386rwhp. difference is if i decide to build the motor...the TT kit can push up to 800HP with a built motor. where the single turbo is lacking that kind of excessive power.

bah...too old skool now. if it was a supra i'd say yeah...i never got into the 300zx...looks never did it for me. its nice that it has the plumbing already for a turbo but....they have already stroked the 350z to a 4.5L and i think i saw a 4.8L as well. there are a million go fast parts and i get a new looking ride. i think the 300zx's looks just date it. i think the supra has a look that is more timeless. at any rate is just personal preference...i dig the 350z...and want to do a nice build up one...inside and out...but i always start with motor...then i make it look fast. i dont like it when people do it the other way around....your car looks fast...then find out...its all stock....what a let down.

Curb weight
Manual transmission
350z enth tour track grand
3,339 3,346 3,400 3,370 3,404

i guess no more than our a4 and the consistently clock low 14s and high 13s stock with a GOOD driver. its a good building platform.

but as far as handling goes....they ranked the handling better than the skyline GTR....i got tons of DVDs of that Best Motor Videos....350z has a lot of technology in it....great suspension setup stock. i think its on the 350z SHOCK video. cool stuff...anyways. it will be the next project.

3400 for a 2 door sports coupe is heavy

3400 for a 4 door sedan is about right

remember, 350z doesn't have a backseat like your g35, which happens to weigh a good bit more.

11-10-2005, 09:44 PM
i just think its a well balanced car...yeah it could go on a weight loss diet...some C/F would help...except i would paint it and go stealth.

it does have a 3.5L unlike my a4 with a lonely 1.8L...but 3400 lbs is on the heavier side i can agree with that...but it will go on a weight loss program.

the thing that I am disappointed at nissan is the weight of the frame and engine. They really cheaped out too much and went to "global" with the shared frame in my opinion. I know the heritage of the "z" is about being cheap but nowadays it's also their flagship. It ain't all that cheap as it is anyways. They do pull off the deep dish wheel look as well as any car though
