I like the look and sound of this exhaust system. I wish I was in the market to buy one.

I had this system on my last car. The sound is quite amazing!

Do you need a mask to clean em?
I've got to say - that vid doesn't really do the exhaust justice - if anything it sort of sounds distorted in the vid. I've heard many other amateur vids where the Borla exhaust sounds phenominal.

Haha, well probably not, but safety glasses for sure when using a die grinder with polishing wheel.

@ Jason@Borla: It appears that the muffler tips are permanently affixed to the outlet pipes. If that is the case, what is the means (if any) of adjusting the axial position of the tips relative to the rear bumper valence? Would it be at the connection between the middle resonator and the X-pipe?

I adjusted the muffler section where it connects to the center resonator. Lined up great

At $2200 MSRP, not sure I would do this over the AWE, but looks like a good alternative.

I got mine for $1700 on Amazon with prime shipping a few years ago and it's been amazing!

This

That being said, it sounds great and I've always had/loved some sort of borla parts in my exhausts, though I wouldn't pay $2000 for any exhaust setup. Even if i was willing to spend that amount, i would still go custom. Hence, borla xpipe custom route! Lol

Don't understand the price point on these even with the Audi luxury tax. They would sell 3x more at 12-1400.

Just me bitching tho. Sounds good and when I'm ready it'll be a hard choice between this and the AWE

I've had mine for about 8 months now and it sounds nice. At first it wasn't loud enough for me but after about a thousand miles it opened up.
Don't let the non res downpipes fool you, there is no drone at all. I have a 6mt though.

Sounds good. You think the road they filmed this on is used for illegal drags much, 1:30 in!

I have their new carbon fiber tips.... Awesome. Can't post pics because they have my plate numbers in it, but they are awesome, if not a little small....

Come on - let's see them! I'd like to know how they look after some heat cycles. Don't worry about your plate, do you blur it out when you drive on the roads during the day?

No, but I don't want the spies to know who I am... LOL

That looks great! Not sure if It would go well with a carbon valence though...

I bought one of these in March 2015 after hearing a comparison between the Borla (thank you to Cooper993 for meeting up with me) and the AWE. It was mellow enough so that when I have clients in the car or I am in a professional setting, I can baby the throttle and its only slightly louder than stock. But man, it really sounds great when you step on it. It was the perfect combination for me.

At the time it was difficult to find online and I ended up getting it directly from Borla (thanks to David Borla and Chris Baas for the excellent customer service). It has held up nicely and the sound did open up after I put some miles in it. I have a DSG and the exhaust does not drone.

I am really happy with the purchase and do recommend them. I am in the northern NJ area and happy to meet up for anyone on the fence to listen.

Bumping an old thread. Anyone head this in person relative to an AWE Touring on Stock downpipes? Debating making a change from my AWE Touring 90mm black tips that I've had for a few months. I like it, but always am up for being different and trying new things. The borla is a consideration, the milltek (resonated w/ an x-pipe likely so its not too quiet), and also stock exhaust with one of the various x-pipe mods. Maybe I'm over thinking!

I've had the Borla, but have not heard the touring. If I was too guess the Borla would be louder as its Downpipes back. And the DP's are non Res. IMO if you wanted a great sounding exhaust that wasn't AWE track loud this would this is the best exhaust. For the price! Because AWE Touring with Non Res DP's is $2,500.00 which I'm sure it can be purchased for cheaper.

I actually like the volume of the AWE Touring with the stock downpipes, just don't LOVE the tone. I like it a lot, but also everyone has it.
I had the AWE Track before this and I actually preferred the raw tone, but the highway drone pressure literally hurt my eardrums! On a 6MT.

The tone put out by my Borla was similar to my track. It was deep and pretty raw for the system.

Interesting. Loved the track's tone. How about drone on the Borla. Track was bad from 2300-3000 or so on the highway.

I have DSG so cruise is 2K RPM. Which bearable. To be honest I don't remember the Borla droning. If it did it was minimal as it didn't stand out to me. I don't seem to remember it as it was on my B8 S4 which has been gone since Jan of this year.
