G247 fuel pressure sensor

Hi there,

Getting a 0301 cyl 1 misfire alongside 0190 g247 fuel pressure sensor code. Just wondering where the sensor is. I know about the one on the hpfp but is there another one?

I used to get a fuel pressure code, and it wound up being the fuel filter (by the tank). The car has two fuel pressure sensors--the one on the hpfp, and the lpfp. If you have VCDS (or get someone close by), then you can get it checked out in more detail.

When was the last time plugs and coil packs were changed as well?

Just did coils and plugs, fuel filter a couple months back.

I'm looking at this diagram and it's showing a sensor under the intake manifold on the fuel rail?

Hmmm... I don't recall seeing that one. I'll have to check again at some point...

I replaced mine a couple months ago. It was the source of my Lean at idle code. Very easy to swap out. I believe the old sensor was orange

New one is orange too. Replacing it this evening hopefully it solves the issue.

Thing is it happens when the car is cold after 2 hrs of driving it rarely does it but it still does.

Yep sensor was the culprit. Takes 2 minutes to change. 06J906051D is the part.

What's the best tool for the job on this one? I see the sensor but having mental difficulty figuring how to get at it under the intake mani? :) TIA!

Unscrew the oil dipstick move it out of the way and use a deep socket like a spark plug one I forget what size but it's a big one... Just make sure you let the car sit for half hour otherwise you'll get gas everywhere like I did.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIs your original one orange?? You can't swap the black(139bar) for orange(200bar) without having it mapped in. You'll get fuel cuts and most likely limp mode. Won't read correctly. If your car had a black one, replace it with a black one.

Just changed out my fuel rail sensor on my 2.0T.B7. The one it came with was the black one and my LTFT wouldn’t budge from 25 no matter what I did until replacing it with the orange sensor. The black sensor had a long connector housing and the 27mm deep socket wouldn’t get passed it to grip the sensor brass. I looked everywhere for a longer socket to no avail. Finally a brilliant mech at the dealership told me how to get to it when others were saying to remove the intake manifold, he said just move the alternator and slide an adjustable wrench over it. BLEED THE RELIEF VALVE 1st. Shrader by the fuel pump near the HPFP. I also found pulling the FP fuse could help. The 27mm fits
the Orange sensor fine. I also can’t find any torque specs on it so just wrist tight seems ok.

You can't just swap the orange(200bar) sensor in for the black(139bar) sensor, it needs a map adjustment. Hopefully ya seen that post above. I don't rem moving anything, may have used a slightly bigger socket. Don't rem.

Yes I read that. Apparently the previous owner replaced the original with a black lone, and the car wasn't running right.

The idle was never below 850 RPM's and as I mentioned, the LTFT never budged from 25. Now the idle is 735-745 RPM.

The LTFT varys as it should. It runs much better at all speeds.

Their both 27mm sockets but the black sensor with the long electrical housing wouldn't let the socket reach far enough to grab.
