I see that getting discolored over time. CF no likey sustained high temps.

Yup, long term you are much better off to hydro dip your stock pieces with a CF look. At least they will stay black that way and not yellow.

That does look great but have to agree with RLB6 and QuattroRocket the CF will become discolored over time being exposed to that much heat.
I almost pulled the trigger but then realized they weren't replacements rather stick ons to the existing covers.

Yea i noticed that too. if it was direct replacement I would get it. I'll save my money for the deval diffuser for now.

From our testing the covers never saw temps over 180 degrees. These see no more heat than our CF intakes would.

Saw the email from ECS about this, going to test it out on the SQ5. For the scared ones, I'll report back on how it holds up. [:D]

I own this set, but cant seem to get the 3M tape to stay. What do you suggest using as an adhesive to mate this to the oem engine cover.

I went to Advance Auto and got high temp adhesive clay. Been on for over a year, no issues.

FWIW, I've had my ECS luft technik intake with carbon tube installed for a little over a year and it has started to take on a little bit of a yellow-ish tint. It's not super faded like CF pieces that sit out in the sun on a car's exterior, but it's noticeable. Still looks pretty cool.

Have intake and pieces and both are starting to have a hint of yellowish. looks good for couple months pass on it
Funny, my RS6 with over 100k miles and much hotter engine bay never had it's oem intake box yellow. Why can't anyone else use a better grade, is it truly that cost prohibitive?!
