Hey all

Picked up my 2014 s4 about 3 weeks, and the mod-bug has already bit. Lol. I come from the Subaru world, and the Mitsubishi world. I've always been in the jap car, and this is my first German car.
Now I expected for parts to be more money to mod..... I wanted to start small since the cat is still under warranty.so I was thinking chip works pro to tune. Apr,awe is way over priced for tuneing. God I miss Cobb lol. Also a pulley too from Cts. Maybe a tcu tune down the road also.

I've been looking at front lips, but can't seem to find any thing with in a decent price range. I know it carbon fiber and and all, but 700$ for something that I'm prob gonna break. I can't justify That price for a lip. So my question is, is there any low cost options for me? Other the. A Home Depot special... Haha. Been there done that. Never again...!

And... Are there any lowers cost options for exhaust systems? Almost 2k seems a bit much for some pipes! Maybe a axle back with some better sound? Some where in the 800$ range?

And lastly, where are some places that are recommended to order parts from? I knew all the subie places with good pricing, but like I said. I'm completely a newbe to the das auto scene.

I'm not looking to break records, just want to personalize my s4.

Keep an eye on the classifieds here. If you're patient and wait for good deals, they're there for the taking. Also, figure out which other models of audi yours shares platforms with(A4/A5 suspension for instance) and keep an eye on those classifieds.

If your looking for brand new parts, like wangshou1989 suggested ECS Tuning is a one stop shop. I also really like Achtuning and have had good experiences with 034 motorsports and moddedeuros all of which have an online store.

modbargains.com has good pricing. I bought a set of coilovers from them and the price was amazing. I just bought an AWE Tuning exhaust from them. It will be delivered today according to ups. Their website isn't the greatest, but if you call them they can give you pricing on items that they don't have listed on the website. They are very easy to deal with as well.

Also +2 on ECS tuning. I've bought from them and it's been very smooth. They even applied a promo retroactively to a purchase I made a week before the promo started. Their customer service has been excellent in my experience.

And keep an eye on the classified section here. There always seem to be good deals listed.

There is a low cost exhaust option. It is called the X pipe mod. The resonators in the middle of the car are removed. They are replaced with straight pipes and an x pipe. Many have done it . Probably costs under $300 depending on which shop does it. It sounds better than stock. But most agree that an aftermarket exhaust sounds better. Otherwise, Magnaflow exhaust is about $1200. Used exhaust could be an option. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/406948-Exhaust-Mod-Resonator-replaced-w-X-Pipe-(video)

Welcome to the world of Audi....as part of the transition, get used to things being ridiculously expensive lol. But as they say around here, pay to play! [:D]

Yeah man get used to the Audi tax. Gone are the days of $400 exhausts and such. And welcome to Audi, you'll love it.

If you go ECS for parts get them all together, their shipping is ridiculous.

This is true. Or wait until they offer free shipping which is fairly often.

Welcome You will now be spoiled with german luxury. But for a front lip nothing looks good on the B8.5 front end unless you need it for racing. Exhausts just keep scoping out the classifieds and you can get a good deal on a used setup. Thats how i got mine. AWE full resonated touring exhaust, awesome. And as others have said for where to get parts. And same as what to do for exhaust work.

Congrats on your new ride; lots of mods for the S4. I recommend reading some of the build threads on hear to see what route others have taken...saved me a lot of time/headaches.

If you don't want to spend too much money do an x pipe mod on the exhaust and get a cts intake. The intakes run $300-500 for the s4 which I believe is about normal.

Hit up Shaun (shaunm82). He has a guy at JC Sportline that gets the carbon fiber lips for fairly decent price. I can't remember off hand how much it was but shoot him a pm and he should be able to help you out.

CTS has sales quite often and the intake can be had for 280 w/ free shipping.

Thanks for all the responses guys. :). I have been doing lots of reading, but was just wondering is there were any diamonds in rough( price wise and brand out there that the search didn't show lol).
I read up on the x-pope mod, but I think I rather just go with a real exhaust. Lol. I've def been looking in the classified , hopefully something pops up.

And damn, Carbin fiber is the only choice for a lip... A pricey lip is def a no go for me, philly streets will rip off in a matter of weeks. Lol. I'll just wait around and see if someone makes a cheaper alternative Or just make my own. Haha

Hah, I went from the Honda world to a C6 Z06 now an S4. That vette/audi tax is no joke but I have noticed that a lot of these parts are very high quality and have a lot more research behind them. Seemed most of the Honda world was just a gaggle of random parts you hoped gained you a few HP.

I would avoid a lip, like you said they always break if you drive your car a lot. The car is beautiful on its own.

From Philly? I live in the Lehigh Valley orginally from South Jersey. I go to Philly often in the summer on the weekends. I would forget the idea of that lip as well. It is only a matter of time before it breaks. I think my friend broke or damaged his on his 335is BMW at stock sport suspension height lol. Can be fixed but still.

Yes sir. From the northeast Philly area. lol. That's why I wanted a cheap alternative lip. That easily replaceable. Lol. But oh well...

I'm only in philly on the weekdays for work, I'm moving to Cumberland county soon as I get my job there. The good ol gov takes forever to hire anyone.....
I was in ur neck of the woods last week at cars and coffee in Bethlehem.
