Wind noise annoyance

Hi all, I've been trying to narrow down an annoying whistle when at speed. It almost sounds like an electrical whining (like when an alternator is dying). I've tested it in neutral at speed and the noise is still there, so I believe its a wind issue.
Typically occurs right around 40mph and gets worse as speeds increase. I should mention my car came without the belly pan installed, PO must have removed or lost it.
This is a long shot but has anyone experienced wind noise on their B7? In other words, I'm not familiar with this platform so if you know of any obvious noise sources on a B7 please let me know.
I do have a moonroof, but I don't hear a change whether it's open, closed or titled.

Wind noise in the cabin?

My B7 has 10x the wind noise at highway speed compared to my B6. It is an avant so I suppose there should be more noise due to aero differences but not this much. In my case it is likely bad door seals. One of these days I will put some silicon grease on the seals just to see if that reduces the noise...if so new door seals.

I too noticed increased wind noise in my Avant, I've actually opened and shut my door a few times while driving thinking it wasn't closed all the way [rolleyes]
