So far there is not much posted on this modification. Does anyone have any experience here?
Looks like the Facelift models are not nearly as 'plug and play' as previous models.
Thanks.

By the lack of response I suspect no-one has successfully accomplished an RS7 Grill on an S7 (2016 Facelift)?
If so, please speak up.
Thanks guys.

What has you thinking it's not as plug and play? You can pick one up from Europrice.

I know some of the S6 guys have retrofitted RS6 grilles. I say retrofitted because it requires grinding down a few contact points, but otherwise it's a straight fit.
I can't imagine the S7 being any different.

In addition to removing all contact points and fashioning a new form of "attachment" (whatever that would be) there are several mods that need to be made to the bumper cover immediately behind the grill. This is a fact, which is why my reference to this mod is not "plug and play." So far I have not talked with or heard from anyone that has done it.
Yes Europrice does sell them (and via email) adds a caveat that some modifications are required.
I'm curious "specifically" what the modifications are because I think they are more dramatic than it first appears. It would suck to have removed the attachment points (of a $1,500 part) and discover that in order to do a quality job you now have to hack into the bumper cover and jeopardize the structure.
This is too expensive of a vehicle to "grind and drill on" without a clear path to a "quality installation."
Some sort of a "step-by-step" manual or YouTube video would go a long way.
A friend of mine just had an RS6 Grill put on his S6 and the shop took almost an entire day. I have not see the finished product so I can't speak to the attachment, modifications or quality of work.
If anyone has done this mod- please speak up.
Thank you.

I'm going to do this mod, and have the parts on order to fit the front camera.
I've purchased the RS Black Optic grill with the Quattro badge.
It's not plug and play and I'm aware that there is a requirement to modify the grill in order to fit the S7.
I'm aware of a few S6 to RS6 grill conversions. Given the the 6 & 7 share the same platform, I'm expecting to do similar mods to the grill.
This is a pretty good guide (pre-facelift)

Im confused perhaps. Isn't there a 2016 RS7? If so, are you all saying the 2016 OEM RS7 grille does not fit the 2016 S7 without modification?

Just to clarify any confusion:
1. The pre-facelift 7 series grills do not fit the facelift models.
2. The facelift RS7 grill is not a plug and play replacement for the facelift A/S7. You need to modify the connection lugs.

Thanks! I had no idea the RS facelift and the S facelift were using different connecting points.

Externally they are the same shaped grill - which is why this is a feasible mod, its just the attachment points that are different - some are aligned, some are not. Where they are not aligned you need to remove them otherwise they prevent the RS grill sitting flush in the bumper.

All parts now acquired for the facelift S7 --> RS7 grill conversion.
Now I just have to find the balls to remove the front bumper (with ACC) on a $100k car, and get on with it [o_o]

I wouldn't want to have to do this again............
Absolute P-I-G to do, and definitely not for the faint hearted [headbang]
Write up to follow.
Suffice to say its close to Neddy191's post on the S6 conversion (Part of Enigmas thread, Post #48 onwards http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/653577-HOW-TO-Remove-S6-Bumper-Install-LED-Headlights-Install-RS6-Grille/page2) - but with a few differences.
Enigma & Neddy191 - you guys showed me the way - That use of zip ties to aid the S7 grill removal - absolute genius [hail]

The end.
Now for a bit of detailing[:D]

Ill write up a separate thread on the conversion when I get some free time. Suffice to say this is not a simple plug and play change to the RS7 grill. There is a lot of cutting to do, both of the new grill and some on the bumper itself. Definitely not for the faint hearted!

Glad to see you got it sorted in the end!
Know what you mean about the cutting... You have moments where you question your sanity!

Car is cleaner now and has front rings fitted.
As well as the RS7 grill Ive also fitted the black optic lower grills and carbon mirrors.
