I recently bought some eibach springs for my '01 A4 quattro 1.8T (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8005289770). Took the wheel out and everything but before putting them on, it seemed that the springs are TOO wide to fit, even though theyre supposed to be the exact model for my car. On eibach's website it says the springs i have are supposed to fit A4's made from 11/2000 to this years.

Is my suspension the older one? How can I check the manufactur date? I've heard rumors that Audi changed a bunch of stuff on the A4's half way through the year... maybe I have the older one? I mean the springs might just fit but i dont wanna take off everything and spend all that effort putting them on just to find it wont work.

actually the photo makes it seem like they will fit but the back panel is so close against the stock ones you can barely even fit a finger back there.

yeah, those are the front springs - your rear eibachs should look something like your current rear springs.

Maybe they sent him 4 fronts? Did you specify Quattro in the order details?

you can check the year in your trunk, behind the liner on the passanger side. You will find that sticker to have everything about your car, option, sprot package etc.

no, those are definately the rear springs. the front ones are much bigger than even the one i'm holding up.

i guess mine is a b6 then? i thought 01's were b5's... so many thigns dont match up, like they say these eibach springs fit november '00 and onward... maybe mine was manufactured before november 00? i guess i should have gotten springs for the older one.. dunno, guess ill just have to call eibach

these are so weird

Can you post a picture of your car. You'll find out if it is a B6 right away.

well my body style is most definately B5.. no doubt about it, its a 2001..

i dont know what the hell is going on, eibach told me to check the numbers printed on teh springs which i will later (the springs are sittign at my friends place) and if they match, its the right springs then i should check the manufacture date of my car, maybe it was made pre 11/2000 (like you know how they start making the cars in the year before the actual year, like mine might have been made 8/2000 and have the older quattro suspension)

I think you got your info way mixed up. First off, you have a B5, and that's that. There is no B5 with a B6 chassis. Next you have a quattro. Your suspension is there for Quattro and B5, does not matter when it was manufacturered. There are no changes to the suspension as far as I know. No way.

You have FWD springs. Send eibach this link.

Behind the trunk liner. You gotta pull the grey stuff away on the pass side I believe.
