I'm doing a big turbo build on my 2000 A4 B5 1.8T Tip Quattro and found that I need to swap my ecu
(model: 4B0 906 018 Q) for a newer ecu (model: 4B0 906 018 CM).

I'm getting the Unitronics cable for the conversion and resistor for the VVT delete as well as my wideband O2 sensor.
Is there anything else I will need to change to make his work? I'm getting conflicting stories from numerous different sources and want to get this sorted out so I can send my ecu off and get it chipped.

I've heard I'll need a map sensor, but I thought there is one installed on my SMIC? Also something about knock sensors and an egt valve.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm into this build for a good 8 grand already, so there's no turning back really at this point. Also, will the below build blow up my TIP?

Thanks so much guys!
Mods include:
Billet fuel rail, 630cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, adjustable fuel reg, 2.0t coil conversion, built AEB head with supertech TI retainers & supertech springs, supertech inconel single groove retainer exhaust valves, supertech ss intake valves with single groove retainer, 3 angle grind on valve seats, stage 2 port and polish on intake and exhaust, I.E. Street/strip cam setup, 4340 h-beam con-rods on stock Pistons. 2.5" FMIC rated at 400HP, turbonetics T03/T04 T04E turbo with .63AR and .50 AR, Audi TT 225 MAF housing on stk MAF and a hemi 80mm TB, finished off with a 3" downpipe to 3" straight pipe all the way back.

Im surprised you bought all those parts and overlooked the transmission.

A tranny swap is a choice, or you can simply buy a manual 1.8t, find a 01E six speed along with the linkage, axles, shaft and diff, throw that in, and resume your build. 01A (5 speed manual) is solid up until 300whp i believe. 01E (6 speed) is good until 500whp they say, more or less. The tiptronic will fall apart at around 300whp. You have the 5hp19 i believe. The 5hp24, found in a8/s8's would probably handle a little more power but still not a great idea.

Forgot to mention that buying a manual 1.8t and swapping your built motor in would be more cost effective.

You have a MAP sensor already, so don't worry about that. The VVT delete resistor is useless, you'll still get a VV set point not reached code after a few minutes of driving which defeats the whole purpose, so just get rid of that. To fully delete VVT you have to reflash the ECU, it's pretty easy and I can send you the bin I made when I first did the conversion. It'll be a bit more complicated getting rid of the immo though, since it is a Passat ECU. Luckily the only thing you need is a standard cheap blue VCDS cable and some free time. The knock sensors, and a bunch of other sensors, have different connectors between ATW and AWM but that doesn't matter if you're keeping the ATW harness.

When I did mine I used a Raceline harness which is similar to the Uni one and needed the ECM, MAF, O2 sensor and mine was already BT so I flashed it as well. Everything else on the car is from the AWT.

I didn't really overlook the transmission, this car was my daily driver until I decided to make it a project car. I like doing things a little different and while I'm aware the Tip isn't ideal at all, I'll still drive it until it blows lol, I was planning on upgrading after it fails, I just wanted to know what it will handle on its upper end spec's.

Mad Cow, I haven't got into playing with my ecu parameters yet. But I will take you up on that bin file. I also talked to Dave at Motoza and was told he could code out the immo for me. Also who would you recommend d for a tune? It's between Motoza eurodyne and Unitronics in my mind, I like the idea of the maestro tuning suite, but I'm a newb to tuning really. Is it something that's difficult to do?

I've heard a lot of good things about Motoza, plus he'll be able to do everything I did and more so best to just go with that.
