I believe I have the MMI BOSE system in my 2009 A4 Cabrio. It has the 2 SD card slots and the DVD navigation system. It says BOSE on the speaker grills and the display says MMI when it starts. There's no external CD/DVD player and in the glove box is what appears to be an old ipod dock. Everything I read says that there should be an aux port in the armrest however all I have in the armrest is what I believe is a phone holder. It has a bunch of electrical connectors as tho something is supposed to snap onto it, but there's nothing there.
What I'm trying to find out is if the port in the glovebox can be converted to something like USB or an aux input for connecting my phone or is there some way to convert / use the phone holder in the armrest? Is there a cable that can replace the ipod dock with a standard USB or something to connect my android?
Thanks.

You have the RNS-E radio. MMI is term that is thrown around by audi too loosely. Audi's A4's switched from the B7 to the B8 platform in 2009. The convertible is the only one that is still B7 so when you do research for your car always look for 2008.
Here are your options. Unless specified they replace your CD changer ipod adapter in the glove box.
First the keys to remove the radio and/or CD changer

Thanks for all of the great info! Im now debating adding an amp and sub to the stock radio until I get around to replacing it but I dont know if thats going to happen because it works and sounds good andI dont use the nav because I lile google maps on my phone. Id have to get a radio that either takes a sim card or can use wifi to get real time traffic and updates

Will this adapter work with an iPhone 6S if I plug my USB to lightning cable?
http://enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_AUT_IPDU_AUX.html
What is the rating of the USB output? 0.5A, 1A or more?
Also it plugs into the glove box connector if I remove my cd changer I assume?
