I have a 2008 B7 A4. The center HVAC vent seems to have gotten stuck in the off or closed position. Any feedback on how to access the flap or motor to the flap? Can I just reset the system somehow?

Any and all feedback appreciated.

Front flap is item #10. Do you have access to VAGcom to run a test?

Thanks Phil,

I may be able to get access to VAGcom. However, if not, what recommendations would you have for me in order to move forward?

Not many solution other than pull the dash if you have a flap issue
If the culprit is the motor, you can access it from the driver side
Reason why I would perform first a test output of the motors to figure out what is going on exactly

Alright, I'll try running a test first and go from there.

Thanks Phil

Did you drop anything down the vent?

Run the flapper test via vag come first but if that doesnt work...

weird story time.

When i bought my b5 audi s4, the car had a APR vent boost gauge. Ever since i had the car the ac never worked so i literally replaced every single part of the ac system and it still never worked right. It got to the point where i had no other options but to tear the dash apart. Iit turned out that while the previous owner was installing the APR vent boost gauge, he dropped a flashlight into the vent and never mentioned this to me. the flash light was stuck inside the vent and not allowing the flapper to close shut.

Any and all feedback appreciated. When you direct the flow to the top or bottom, does the two sides (6 & 4) closed or stays open as always?

I did not drop anything down the vent. Air just stopped coming out. I'm hoping its just a stuck flap.

When I direct the flow to top or bottom, side vents (6 &4) work exactly as they should. It is just the middle vent 5 that isn't working properly.

^^Do they shut or stay open all the time?

Yes, they stay open all the time.

^^Well, at least that part is working correctly. Hope you tackle the issue with the center ones.

Ended up just being a bad vent motor. Bought one on ebay and all works fine.[wrench]
