Hi guys. I was driving on the highway at night and an SUV in front of me ran over a shredded truck tire, flipping it up at me with no reaction time to move. The pictures speak for themselves I think.

My plans besides the obvious repairs:
Shaving the side reflectors
Having a clear protective bra put on the front bumper and front part of the hood.
Swapping to an S4 grille
https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Exterior/Body/Grille/ES2081148/
Questions:
From my research, the S4 grille will swap into my s-line bumper without issues. Can someone here please also confirm this for me?
https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/5571_x600.jpg
Can an "S-Line" front emblem easily be swapped into the spot where the "S4" emblem is? I want to ensure that they fit into the same clips. Link to the part I am talking about: https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Exterior/Body/Grille/Emblem/ES1597820/
https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/16875_x600.jpg
Can you swap out the emblems from the front without taking off the grille?
I'm not sure if I want to get a new license plate holder or not to match the new grille (mine is approx. 7 years old). Can these holders easily be swapped from the front without taking off the grille? Part link: https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Exterior/Body/License_Plate/ES2093773/
https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/101241_x600.jpg
While the bumper is off, I want to address the front bumper gap issues in the corners. I no longer have the plastic circles on these "Bumper Cover Attachment Bolts" - link: https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/8E0_807_893/ES437958/ Can anyone confirm that the bolts go in from the front, and are simply held in place by the plastic circles that go on from the "inside" of the bumper cover side?
https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/125133_x600.jpg
Am I forgetting anything else that might be helpful here? Anything that I should do while it is in the body shop?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The filler plate should be able to be swapped without removing the bumper/grill.

Damn that sucks, but could've been much worse. Glad you're OK.
From my previous research, the A4/S4/RS4 front grills are interchangeable. And the front plate holder can be removed without taking off the bumper.
Good idea in shaving the side reflectors!
IF you're ever planning on doing the PlastiDip on the grill surround, it would make sense to do it now! Also, any work/maintenance on the headlights (bulb swaps, resistors, etc).

Thanks, Andy. Yeah, it could have been much worse. I plan to order the "Grey" S4 grille and keep the chrome surround. Silver on silver [drool]

sucks man, could've been a lot worse buttttttttt glad you are ok!!!!! #1
I have a S-line grill if you want; shoot me PM and we'll go from there. The holders can easily be swapped like Adam said and can be done w/the bumper still on
as far as the side bumper gap, it should be easy to fix but the ECS link is $12+ a pop....crzy! there are a lot cheaper options, junkyard, someone parting out their car, non OEM parts etc

Looks like there's a scratch on your passenger Xexon?
As far as the clear bra, I was considering trying to do this myself, but install myself as it's pretty darn expensive if you have it done.
Let us know how it turns out. [up]
Did that black clean off your bumper cover?

just buff and cut and polish it out...

Yes it looks like it can be buffed out? can you post close ups?

The black tire rubber most likely be buffed out by the shop. But the scratches will need to be addressed.
The headlight in theory can be buffed out, but I'm uncertain about the UV coating on it... how that comes into play...?
Does anyone know if the S-Line badge can be swapped out easily for the S4 badge?

Wow, your painted surfaces are really dinged up like mine. I've never had a car that chipped so easily. Is Audi paint that soft.
Good luck with the repairs.
In my younger days I was riding my motorcycle on the interstate in Maryland. A semi just in front of me blew a rear trailer tire. The main carcass just missed me but i got nailed by a lot of large chunks. Managed to stay upright. Definite sphincter tightening moment.

Sorry to hear about this! What a shitty situation.

Good morning Wildcat... sorry to see the car in such shape, the most important thing is that you're alright... now time for upgrades! The S4 grill is a direct swap, no modifications needed. I have one on my car when it was hit in a parking lot... look great and you can barely tell a difference from the stock S-Line grill. You can surely replace the S4 emblem with the S-Line emblem... I'm not 100% sure if it will fit in the same exact spot but im sure a little engineering can make it happen. As far as the plate holder that can be changed with the grill already on the car... I believe its 4 screws all together. Nice mod list... car seems like its really tastefully modded!

Lol I meant it in reverse. I don't want to be a complete S4 poser, and would never run an S4 badge or emblem :D

Bump to see if anyone knows if the S4 badge can be removed from the grille. And if the S-Line badge can be swapped in.

You should be able to use the same process as debadging the trunk. Heat gun and floss

For the "S4" badge on the front grille? Aren't they all just clipped into the grille?

Hi @nan07 - do you mind posting a photo for me? I'm having a tough time visualizing this, especially since the S-Line badge is wider than the S4 badge. Thanks.

I'll snap a pic later today, I just tried to center it as best I could. I also glued on a Quattro badge, not sure if they are different sizes

In the meantime can anyone find a photo of an S-Line badge on an S4 grille? I couldn't find one.

Since it appears the S-Line badge is slightly too wide to fit between the double-vertical grille bars (it's wider than the Quattro badge), I'm not sure about the S4 grille anymore...
Thoughts on me possibly going to the RS4 grille?

If you do the RS4 grille would you run badgeless or put the s line badge on?

@Hypn0t1q79 it's almost 2x more expensive than the other grilles. and it's tough too cause they all look better without a front license plate. do the rings look higher up than s-line?
Hypn0t1q79
11-19-2015, 06:22 AM
They do and I agree they all look better without front plates.
What about running a badgeless S4 grille?
Edit: Here's a better picture of an RS4 grille on an S-line bumper

I think that was @nnnick 's car above.
Badgeless S4 requires a using a dremel cut-off tool to remove the S4 badge bracket. @Hugh@EuropaParts has done this, and he could probably share a photo. Not sure if I want to go down this route though myself.

It takes less than 20 seconds to dremel off, you can't tell it was there at all.

brandon - the first photo you posted appears that it was from the ECS brand rs4 style grille (not audi oem).
The second one looks more oem.
