I'm bringing my 08 A4 Cab. to my local shop for a timing belt and water pump change next week. What else should I have them do since so much of the engine will be exposed and/or apart?

2.0t ? Not much to think of for the front of the motor. The sides is a different story lol.

Yes, 2.0t. While my car is in the shop, I'm open to any ideas. Have just over 100k miles.

Thermostat maybe? Not that is needs to be replaced, but if you're wanting to be preventative.

That's about it on the front. And maybe update your diverter valve if you haven't already done that?

Neither of these things are essential, but you'll already be in the area, if you wanted to hit them.

Accessory belt, tensioners (TB and you may want to consider the accessory belt tensioner), and rollers for the TB. Typically a TB job involves changing the rollers and tensioners, but you may want to confirm.

Sounds like a good plan. Thanks.

I did my timing belt and held off on the thermostat....

It went out a month later.

Just do it as well....since you are evacuating the cooling system anyway

My car had it done at 87k without thermostat, bought my car at 109 and at 113k i did the thermostat after calling the dealership to ask if they do thermostat when they do timing belt job. The response was not always lol.

As others have said, belts, rollers, tensioner (at least timing belt tensioner), thermostat and coolant(Audi specific). You can do the accessory belt tensioner later if you need to without going in all the way.
Do the seals if they are leaking, if not leave them alone.
It's a good idea to look at the DV and n75.

The DV can easily be done later as well I might add, not hard to change under the car.
