Hello,

I am dealing with a very specific problem for some time now and I have not so far found a solution to my problem. Please anyone with the same problem let me know if any solution has been found.

Car: Audi A4 B7 2.0Tfsi Quattro 2006
Suspension: KN Street Comfort with default settings.
APR Stage 1
HFC, exhaust, mufflers

Tires: Goodyear F1 225/40r18, Tested also with Continental Sport Contact 5 225/40/r18

Problem:

While driving in high speed, for example 140-150 km/h, with 6th gear in 3100-3200 rpm I get a vibration every 10 secs, not on only the steering wheel but also the whole car trembles.

I mean car vibration for 10secs and then smooth run for another 15 secs, and then again 10 secs car vibration. The same thing again and again. Sometimes I get these vibrations at a lower speed. Always from 80-100km/above

Solutions I have tried:

Changed Tires
Changed Rims
Wheel Alignment
Wheel Weight Alignment
Changed engine mountings
Changed front engine mounting
Gear mount is fine, checked.
Suspension mountings checked
ball bearings checked
wheel mountings checked
Suspension checked

Suggestion from different mechanics:
1. Due the rear differential I get vibrations (he says is a common thing with quattro cars. a haldex problem. do I have haldex? I really don't know)
2. Tires ( I already changed. the car has vibrations)
3. Rims ( I already changed. the car has vibrations)

Everyone says the car is fine.

I don't know. Please help.

Thank you

I had that issue and it turned out to be a bad tire. I will say that since it is Quattro, take a look at the drive shaft and the bearings. there's no way in hell is vibration normal on any car no matter the speed. I take my car up to 100 mph on occasion and I don't have a single vibration. my only issue is my upper control arms are poop and they make the ride a little uncomfortable.

Of all the things you tried, you didn't mention the drive shaft. Center bearing is particularly suspect, but the CV joints at each end can go bad. And the harmonics of the drive shaft (we're talking a big, long shaft spinning at 7,000 RPM) are such that it can come and go.
