Okay I have a 2007 A4 and it been a good car for me but this morning out of the blue it threw a flashing CEL and started to hesitate and lurch when giving it gas. Luckily it happened about 1/4 mile from my house so I was able to turn right around. Called up the dealership and they said the ignition coils were replaced back in 2009, and the spark plugs were replaced @ 40,000 miles. It now has 122,xxx and I've been meaning to change them but never got around to it. Ran the bag com on it and it gave 2 codes, p0300 and p0303, which is a misfire in cylinder 3. I am going to buy new plugs and a new coil pack. Would you replace all 4 coils also or is that not needed? Problem is I need to get my car back on the road as fast as possible so ordering a part online isn't really the route I want to go, and the closet dealership is about an hour away from me and with my working hours it doesn't give me any time to make it out there. Does anyone have experience with a coil from auto zone or any other auto shop that will be as good as oem? Does it sound like I'm on the right path to getting this figured out?

Just get the plugs then, avoid non oem coilpacks. Your dealership should be open weekends no? I printed out prices from genuineaudiparts and my dealership parts department matched all of em.

I have experience with them. I have all of the, with NGK Platinum plugs. They can last a couple of years (not bad). remember that they have lifetime warranty. Buy a new one and they refumd all the $

Well I got my order in so the parts should be in to my local auto shop by tomorrow morning. I didn't look at the prices before I ordered but it was quite a but more expensive than buying it from the dealership which threw me for a loop but oh well. The ignition coil was $37 and the plugs were like $12 a piece. The spark plugs were Bosch, and the parts guy described the ignition coil brand to be very good, cant remember the brand but they are a major distributer to all the auto shops in the area, so its not like your local auto zone, I didn't buy no duralast or notoriously cheap brand. Only time will tell but ordering through them allows me to pick it up during my lunch break and i just couldn't pass up that connivence since I am in a pinch needing to get my car back on the road as soon as possible. This is literally the first part going on my car that wasn't bought through the dealership, but I've also never had to get a part in to get my car back on the road so ill cross my fingers, but I think ill be alright

Could have just ordered from https://www.europaparts.com/audi/a4/b7/2-0t/parts/engine.html They ship same day if you order by 4pm and most likely get it the next day. All oem parts

Well I put the new plugs and the new coil pack and everything is working perfect. Only thing is I forgot to put the lube for the spark plugs [headbang] I bought it and everything when I was cleaning up I saw it in the bad

At least you could of gotten OEM original Audi parts. As for the coils I'd change all of them with the new plugs. The Audi-Branded plugs are these. It actually say 'VW' on them, made by NGK.

Just take them out and put the dielectric grease on. Takes 10 minutes.

Yea I would have liked to get the oem coil pack but I needed my car back in the road asap, so with my work schedule going to an Audi dealership to get the part just wasn't working. And I figured if there is a part that wouldn't hurt to have non oem it's the coil pack cause oem coil packs suck anyways so there's always that.
And the plugs I pulled out were exactly the same ones I was replacing them with, and they were last replaced when the car had 40,000 at the dealership and god knows how long ago that was
