changed my main drive shaft last weekend and i have violent vibrations coming from the rear in speeds over 60 mph when cruising, less when full throttle. anyway, when aligning the shaft to final drive. which marks do i aligning to? i did just mark the position of the old shaft and put the new one at the same position based on mark on shaft with my new mark on final drive. i notice there are two holes or groves on the final drive. should i allagin using those?

I had vibrations before, fells worse with new shaft. Need to know if i alagined correctly or if i should look on other causes?

I have no vibrations below 60 mph. Does a wrong aligned shaft always vibrate?

Mine did when changed. The guy who changed it out didnt put on a reference mark from the old position = vibrationville. Brought it back--not sure how he realigned it but once it was = good times.

Thats the thing. I did put a reference mark and aligned it to the same position as the old one. But i wonder, how does the oem reference mark looks like?

Don't assume the vibrations are from aligning the shaft to the flanges. You also have to align the center bearing so that the shaft is as straight as possible. Both dimensions matter, left to right and up & down.
