Hey folks. Has anyone tinkered the ambient floor lighting in an A4 B5 so it can be turn on/off at will, and not just when the doors open? I'd really like t be able to turn it on/off with a switch, and would love to not have to install my own LEDs and wiring to get some ambient lighting.

BTW, here's the lighting I put in my last car, a 2007 Element SC. I'd like to do something similar with my Audi, but a little more understated.

VCDS allows this via the MMI interface if you have the cable.

Sorry. Just saw you said B5 and not B8. I'm not sure on the B5.

Williston eh? Roughneck by chance (I mean no offense by that btw)?

My 97 A4 never had any kind of footwell lighting, so I ended up adding LED strips wired to a switch so I can turn them on and off as I please (even while moving).

Yeah good old Williston. I guess you could call me that[emoji23] born and raised, but it's more of a stereo type. My family was about the only family that was into cars a while back. I like your lighting, I'm going to have to pick some up

Gotcha, good to see more people from up North on here.

I just used cheap ass LED strips like I said, been going strong for over 2 years now. Something like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-24cm-48cm-72cm-96cm-120cm-Waterproof-PVC-LED-Neon-Car-Light-Strip-/390992577144?var=660356096914&hash=item5b08f94278:m:mkF4HSIYOVyyW81nlI1q8qQ

Then I just used a plain jane switch I picked up from O'reillys and wired that into a switched 12v source, that way I can never forget to turn them off!
