Offers? Nobody wants headers?

Well, seeing as you're pricing them $50 OVER JHM's price, I don't see why anyone would want to buy them from you....no offense...

I guess the ceramic coating is a value-add but still...

Agreed. I'd be all over them for a reasonable price. I'm not paying for new when I can wrap for $100 with DEI Ti lava.

Didn't realize pipes were coated as well.

What are you talking about?

1. These are $2,270 from JHM with stainless steal clamps.
2. panjo forces you to list with shipping included.. So I added $50. I am selling these for $2,200 as I have stated in several other posts.
3. I don't know where you guys are getting your ceramic coating quotes.. But it does NOT cost $150 to get a set of headers and test pipes done.

Really???

Everybody wants shit for free.

If you really want them, but insist my asking price is too high, please make an offer.

Never mind the fact that it literally took 8-10 weeks for these things.. What your time worth? To say this is a bad deal, is admit you have no idea what you re talking about.. Just a joke.

What kind of coating is 600?!? White Lightning quoted 250 and Jet Hot cost me 160. Did you get bottom of the space shuttle grade material?

What coating? The quote I got from jet hot was like $1,100

With my CTSV, coating Kooks headers was $140-190 depending upon heat range. Jet Hot brand was more (350ish), but why if there's other brands and options? I wrapped them for less.

The over priced coating is the "discount" you're asking for and why no one is biting. No joke.

I didn't get my test pipes coated. Didn't feel it was necessary but maybe I'm wrong. I can see white lightning charging 600 for headers AND pipes. I didn't go with them because they said it would be a 5 week turnaround and I had already waited months for the headers. OP if you don't mind me asking, why are you selling them?

Why am I selling: I'm parting out my entire S4 engine platform.

Why am I asking just below retail price?: I'm asking $2,200 for these headers, retail for this setup is $2,270 before shipping taxes and ceramic coating. Theses are brand new, so I am simply throwing in the ceramic coating for free.. Why I have debate the merits of this deal is quite beyond me... As i can assure you, the ceramic coating I had done cost more that $160 as suggested above.

I'll lower to $2k. That's $270 below retail with a free ceramic coating.. Hopefully this garners fewer complaints.. [emoji36]

Nobody complained. You replied to your own ad wondering why no one jumped on buying headers. We offered our opinions, which are all the same. I never would've "complained", since I hope everyone gets the $ they want for parts, cars, etc. and wouldn't ruin someone's ad, but you questioned the lack of a quick buy.

If you want a quick sell, split the difference for the offer above and its picked up, so no shipping hassle.

I was just bumping the thread.. Then people jumped in like I was gouging with my price. Sorry I got defensive.. I promise that I did not pay less than $200 for this ceramic coating.. It should also be pointed out that ceramic coating is not a more expensive equivalent to wrap. It's a better, more efficient alternative. It's an upgrade, not a frivolous waste of money. There are several threads and articles that speak to this.

I'm holding steady at $2,000

I just had my V2 headers and test pipes ceramic coated at swaintech and it was 650 with shipping. Whoever picks these bad boys up will be saving nearly 1k after shipping and coating. Header wrap is for shitty Honda's.... if your taking the time to install these you want ceramic coating.

Does anyone have before and after dyno numbers with these?

They add a very noticeable amount of the low end torque, and the new mid length version also allows for better gains in hp in the higher rpm ranges. They also make your exhaust note sound amazing.. [emoji3]

I concur...

I had the original version about 6 years ago--one of the first batches on my old b6. I see they no longer offer that version...

Not tht it mattes but I recall paying around $300 for ceramic coating

Anyways stay patient man. Someone will scoop these up for 2k---winter time projects...

I think most people who instal them consider it to be one the best, if not THE best, mod they ever did.

SprintBlueWorld

Yeah, but you have to pull the motor to install these no? If not what exactly is involved?

dsgray16
10-07-2015, 11:25 AM
People have done the instal without dropping the motor.. But I believe you do need to at least lower some to get access to the bolts. It's something to do when you are having a timing service done if you are having a shop do it. There are threads that discuss diy installs though.

$2K is a great deal for these. Might take some time, but don't go a penny less.

I have heard plenty of butt dyno references, but what about an actual dyno run? I like verifiable scientific evidence when products are supposed to increase power.

It depends what other mods you have.. I would suggest headers be paired with a 2.5in catback and JHM tune at minimum.. A ported intake and spacers help the whole engine breath better.

Are you sceptical about the merit of headers vs. stock manifolds, or are you just curious to see actual numbers? I can say with certainty that the gains realized are very noticeable, and worth the cost and effort, I just don't have exact before/after dyno stats.. Maybe JHM can chime in with estimates.

They've been posted before about the old headers...the info is out there, but we all know the only thing skeptical people are after is a pretty dyno graph

Here are your Dyno results. 40+ ft-lbs TO THE WHEELS the tq comes in over 1000 rpm sooner and holds for longer. The Hp is about 30hp more AT THE WHEELS and extends past the stock 6200rpm.

10MPG dyno'd his old set a long time ago
