Well, I had the old AP Racing brakes off of my B6 car so I decided to put them on tonight. The kit uses 320mm 2 piece directionally vented rotors weighing in at a scant 12lbs. The calipers are a 4-piston design weighing in at only 6lbs. Don't mind how dirty they are. I'll fix that tomorrow. cheers! Mike

good write-up. excellent-looking brakes. I bet they'd look even better all cleaned up and behind some lightweight wheels!

Yup, the stock rotors are right at that size, although the stocker are a single piece non directionally vented unit that seem to weigh at least 20lbs (ill get them on the scale). The calipers on the other hand use 4 pistons instead of one and the pads are much larger in surface area. I've found that using a high performance setup in or around this size is more than enough for even courses like Sebring while also keeping weight to a minimum. It's not as showy though.

I can't wait to get some 15lb racing wheels. Lot of cash to put out right now, but i'll be grabbing a set before the new season.

cheers! Mike
