Hi all,

I've done a lot of searching and reading in an attempt to find some winter wheels for my RS5. I was told the Vossens from my S4 would fit but, evidently, that's not the case.

If you have purchased and successfully fitted either 19 x 8 or 19 x 8.5 or 19 x 9 sized wheels on your RS5 could you please post specifics? That is, manufacturer, model, size, where purchased and price?

Mops... anyone?

Thanks.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this reply. I don't need brakes. And I would prefer replies from actual users, not a link to a website. No offense.

What is preventing your Vossens from fitting? Does the wheel just need a space for the caliper (i.e. the offset low enough to clear), or is there not enough room to slide the wheel over the brake setup?

He gave you links to wheel sets for each respective brake option. The ceramics are larger, thus making it so only 19 and 20 inch wheels will fit.

I even included a make it simple link....
Your sig doesn't say if you have standard or ceramic brakes so I included both to make it easy.
Tirerack test fits each wheel so they guarantee fitment.

Apparently sometimes when you teach a man to fish you also have to teach them how to eat.

Supposedly, the "barrel" is not wide enough to accommodate the calipers.

No problem.

I didn't cook the fish though...so it's sushi.

That's what is good about tirerack test fitting each wheel on the actual vehicle.

I was surprised that some of the BBS 18 inch wheels fit with standard brakes.

Thank you for this lead. Sorry for the "newb" question, but will S5 wheels fit over RS5 calipers?

Not sure they would be direct fit however, a set of spacers might help. That said, some don't recommend spacers for winter use. I have never seen anyone use peelers as winters on an RS though. Hopefully someone can chime in.

buy my stock forged RS5 19's off me. I took them off the RS right when I got home from the dealer so there are less than 50 miles on them.

Only thing I'd be worried about is the spacer freezing to the hub if you had to get it off for some reason. Just put som anti-seize on the hubs imo.

Thank you, but I am in the US. Shipping costs from Romania would be prohibitive.

What do you guys do about an extra set of TPMS sensors for the winter tire/wheel setup? Go without? Or is there a recommended TPMS sensor setup that doesn't break the bank?

If this is for and RS5, you don't need a separate TPMS set up...the system is built right into the computer...I believe they are all equipped this way?

Once you put your new wheels on, give it a few miles and a message will prompt you on your MMI asking if you want to store your settings..accept and you are good to go!

Yes, this is for my '13 RS5. Thanks S4V8--I didn't know that!! It sounds like magic; curious how it works?

I had a '13 RS5 as well and this is how it worked for me. Simply have the wheels and tires put on...you will drive for a bit and a message will come up on your MMI screen as a warning (it does this because it has your old wheel/tire settings stored so it is thrown off). Simply follow the instructions on the MMI and your good. If I recall it simply asks you to store the current settings and voila! Car must not be moving when storing settings...it will warn you about this if you happen to start moving when you are storing. Easy!

Do you have spacers on? My winters are the same size but et33. Look too inset to me but some people are recommending against spacers in winter? Wondering if anyone has experience positive or negative with them?

Our 18x9 et30 TurboMacs and 18x8.5 and 9.5 Tarmacs clear the 365mm RS4 and RS5 brakes. We also have 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 Tarmacs

Yes, I have spacers on. Since we don't use salt on the roads here, I'm not concerned.
