I know there are countless threads over the form for this. But there seems to always be a conflicting opinion on this.
Which pad would anyone recommend to just avoid the break dust? I dont track my car so i dont need anything fancy. I also plan on getting a new set of Adams rotors with these pads.

Thanks again

I have good luck with Akebono euro ceramic. Great stopping power and very low dust. Best of both worlds IMHO!

Disc Italia ceramic on my S6. Night & day difference, almost no dust.

I just installed EBC Red Stuff all around. Supposedly low dust, I only have 300 miles so far, still dusty as hell. Manual says it will be dusty for the first 1000 miles. Will see.... Anyone else with EBC Redstuff, please chime in.

Following this...as I'm getting ready to order for s7. How's the feel on the pads? I had akebono before on mercedes and didn't like they were spongy.

+1. I used Akebono in the past for low-dust, but they don't make pads for the S7. Disc Italia ceramics work just as well as the Akebono pads, in my opinion.

I have Disc Italia and they are really good for dust but someone posted that they started to dust again after awhile. Mine haven't yet

I only have 300 miles on the pads for now. Seems okay with slightly better initial bite. I did the bedding process at 200 miles with a few hard braking stops from 60mph. It was pretty incredible stopping power. For day to day driving, the pads seems a little firmer which was my main goal for the change. I had a few close calls with the OEM pads, seemed to fade on emergency hard braking. Dusting is still pretty ridiculous still. The docs. that came with the pads says it will take almost 1k miles for the pad reach full potential and low dust. Will have to wait and see. I like the bedding coating on the pads that de-glaze the rotors, thought that was a cool feature. Hope that helps!

My Disc Italia pads on my S7 feel comparable to my Akebono pads that I ran on my S5. Not as grabby as the OEM pads (which I actually prefer), but good enough to do the job. No squeaky noises, and basically dust free so far.

This post got me doing a pad replacement. I purchased Akebono Euro pads for a weekend DIY and in the box is only one wire for the brake sensor.
Did I get short changed?

It depends on the car. The only way to know is by looking at what's on the car now. Btw, the first thing I always do when I buy an Audi, is replace the OEM pads with ceramics. Unfortunately, most rear brakes require a visit to the Audi dealer for the swap out, in my experience.

I did the DIY for all the brakes. The front is pretty straight forward with two 9mm hex bolts and C-clamp to push back the pistons, T6.5 to remove the Torx bolt on the front. The rear do need the VAG COM to retract the Electronic parking brake. Only the driver side has wear sensors both front and back.
If you anyone needs instructions, I can post them too. I took some pictures for the step by step, haven't had time to post them :-(

So there is only one brake senior per axle? And both are on the driver side?

Another alternative for good performance and greatly reduced dusting:

I didn't have the special socket for the 9mm hex bolts so I just removed the 21 or 22mm bolts and removed the bracket with the caliper still attached to it. to retract the pistons, I just used two wrenches.

I put on a set of Akeobono and the dust is almost non-existent. I have a spare set of some other premium ceramics somewhere that I would let go really cheap - they are for the A7 rears.

Sorry to dig this thread up but instead of posting another one I figured I'd ask here. Those of you with S6/7 what is the part# for the Akeobono pads. I have used these in other cars and I'm getting sick of all the dust on my wheels and thinking about replacing pads early. I can't seem to find the pads online anywhere or even part #'s for our cars.

Hello everyone...

Excuse my English, I used my Google Translation to translate my text ...

I tried to find on the net brake pads:

Carquest Wearever "GMKD1575" to the front,
Carquest Wearever "GMKD1547" to the back.

When I go to the site with recommended links above in a previous post, he asked me a "ZIP CODE" for my city ... trouble is that I'm from Switzerland!

How do I get these brake pads? I searched ebay etc ... but no way to find people who would sell me these references there for my Audi S6 C7 ...

Best regards,

I'm curious to know if the EBC Red Stuff dusting has subsided after the 1000mi mark? I trust the EBC name, and would like to put these on my car...

Best regards,

Easiest thing might be to put in a zip code (for instance, "60069") and then call the store it brings up, or e-mail Advance Auto Parts from the "contact us" info on the website.

If seller is not shipping to Switzerland try using Borderlinx (or some other service) as a forwarder to you.

Anyone had experience with Stoptech (ones that Adam's rotors are bundling)?

I found my part numbers (for A7) at:
http://akebonobrakes.com/euro
and at the bottom of the page click the "web catalog".

I did that but the only part # I found was the rear pads for my S6. I'm looking for both...

I know it's for the tdi, but take a look on Amazon. Got tired of all the dust and saw TRW had ceramic pads for front and rear, ordered less than $100 for all four corners. We'll see how it goes as TRW supposedly is an OEM supplier.
