Just picked up a 2014 rs7 yesterday. Love the car!! but..

Is it just me, or is the reverse camera super dark ? My 2010 B8 S4 cam was much better...
Is there a way to play with the camera contrast & brightness ?

Bonus question inserted : how do I activate active lane assist ?

Thanks guys

Yes you can mess with the brightness, though I don't recall how

Lane assist is activated with a push button on the end of the turn signal stalk, you will see a yellow lane in the gauges after it is on, and it will also turn green or red depending on your positioning

Is yours a 2014? Because I don't see a button. I have the driver assist package, maybe no lane assist? I thought it was included in the package.

I recall seeing someone posting about adjusting quite a few settings with the camera in the hidden menu on the B8 S4 threads the other day.

Thanks for that info, I might have to use VCDS then. I was hoping it was adjustable in stock form.

You don't have lane assist feature in your car. It's in driver assistant package for US spec RS7 but I can't say for Canadian spec though.

Lane Assist was included in an add-on package for the 2014 RS7 in the US. First, are you certain you have the Driver Assistance package?

Perhaps the button to activate it is located in a different spot for the Canadian models? [:/]

sshhiitt, I dont have it!

The VIN shows - Code: PCP - Origin: G - Family:Assistance package without active lane assist

Is this a Canadian thing?

Don't worry - if you're like me you would have turned it off after a couple miles anyway. Gets annoying pretty quickly. Paying attention is easier and cheaper!!

It's actually really nice for highway driving. Around town though it's worse than useless.

I have the same issue with my 2015 RS7. My previous car was a 2011 A8L, and the camera was much brighter/better. I asked about this last time I brought it in for service, and they said there were no adjustments. I noticed the 2015 A4 loaner that they gave me had the same dark camera issue. I'm thinking that the cameras have changed with the newer models?

I just tested it again today. My camera is unacceptably dark! I can hardly see anything. I will be taking it to the dealer, this is ridiculous!

Its also choppy, but I can live with that.
