All -- one more question. Some of you may have seen my earlier thread on night vision. The car came back from service a day ago and one of the things they updated was the NAV/MMI. I had been having a periodic hang up where the picture stays frozen on Nav until the system is rebooted. Now my google maps overlay no longer is visible -- says data connection needed...and only shows 2G. Is something turned off or did they make a mistake? Please advise. Thanks.

Had similar things happen to me when I updated to v814. First, do you have a data plan on your SIM card? It's saying 2G because it doesn't have a 3G connection via your SIM card. You can select the Google Maps overlay in the MMI menu, but it will be all blurry (un-rendered) if you don't have 3G. I haven't had issues with mine freezing up though - definitely go back to the dealer and have them troubleshoot. GL

Thanks for your response. I'll have to follow up with my office to check whether we paid for a data plan. I recall using data once a long time ago to connect an iPad and realized it was too slow for anything practical and have never bothered since. I thought the car had 3 or 4 years of traffic and google maps either as part of the purchase or prepaid. It has a lifetime subscription for siriusXM. Anyway I feel a bit bamboozled by the dealer. These little things wind up wasting so much time having to go back and forth to the dealer. This time after having an appointment set up several weeks prior they had the car for a week. It also came back with paint damage which now needs to be addressed!

The cellular module may need updated. Ask them did they perform the entire T-Mobile upgrade campaign.
