Just wanted to see what you guys think of this car...

http://www.primemotorsport.com/web/used/Audi-RS-7-2014-Addison-IL/23511338/

Checks all the boxes for the car I was looking for, but wanted to get your thoughts on:
1. Asking price - seems a little high for a 2014 with 13K miles
2. Any downsides/ risks of buying from a Non-Audi dealer
3. No CPO on the car
4. One owner, but the seller does not have the service records..but is willing to get them

Look forward to the feedback.

Very similar options to mine minus exclusive package and color but you have to keep in mind that I got mine 11 months ago from Audi Dealership with almost half of that mileage and CPO at $108K. I don't think you should pay $112.9K for that...anything less than $105K sounds about right to me.

Looking at little things, I noticed the R8 gear shifter. Most casual buyers are not gonna have that installed, the aftermarket shift knob is something I would expect to see someone on the forum install. With that being said I would check with APR to have them run the VIN and see if the vehicle has been flashed in their system. If this is the case might explain why a non-audi dealership is selling the vehicle? I would expect to see low 100's for the vehicle.

Surprising it doesn't have B&O because it is loaded otherwise. It's a beautiful car and the posters above make a lot of sense regarding fair pricing. You can make a 2014 go faster than you can make a 2016 go, if that matters to you. Get a dealer to run "spec actual" to make sure your warranty is intact.

I noticed it has B&O in the pics, Awesome looking color loaded with options but I would not pay more than $100K Good Luck hope it works out for you.

I agree it is too high, I would also have the VIN ran to see if it's been TD1, or check with APR or GIAC to see if it's been tuned. If it has you can use that to have them lower the price.

its says RS not R8.. But I am wondering why the steering wheel and gear shifter are not perforated leather like all RS cars..never seen it before this..

I asked the same thing, as I noticed the car had B&O but the listing did not...wierd. The seller did verify that she indeed has B&O. I just my dealer here in FL and he is going to do some due diligence for me, so lets see.

Thanks, I agree $112K is too high, supposedly the original owner spec'd the car out and he paid $140K for it. My dealer is running the VIN thru the Audi system so lets see what comes out of it. I did call APR this morning and spoke with Aaron there, who informed me that they cannot disclose to me if the car was "tuned" or not by them, so I would have to physically take the car to an APR dealer to verify that.

Got any ideas on who could help me find out if the car was tuned?

They (APR) should be able to tell you if the VIN is in their system- I'd try emailing them instead. Here is the response from last time I did so:

"When it comes to the information we can provide, we can only say if the car has or has not been flashed, for privacy reasons naturally. Looking at this VIN, I do see it was flashed in the past. If you would like any other specific information, you would have to have the car flashed under your name using a warranty transfer. They can go over what you have on the car on that point."

I'd also email GIAC asking if the VIN is in their system.

Haha...well, just heard today that that S6 is on its way, so may pass on this one. Btw, your ride is super sweet. :)

If anyone is interested in the RS7, my service rep let me know that he did not find any issues. Also, looks like the RS has AudiCare paid for till 45K miles, so all the best if you guys are interested.

Thank you all for your comments....now onto preparing for the mods to the S6 :)

Sorry to go off topic here but...

I have noticed that the dyno charts for 2016 cars show less power stock and tuned; when compared to the 2014 model.

I am curious to why this is the case?

Different Dynos - looks like one is at the wheels, the other the flywheel

Im not 100 on this, but I would assume they do testing on the same dyno, as they do testing quite frequently (and need to keep things as consistent as possible).

As for the figures. According to APR's Website those are both at the crank on 93 octane tune.

Below are the graphs showing power to the wheels on 93 and stock.

Considering the car's got BO sound and executive package it was about 140k when new, so it's your chance to get a well loaded one.
They are planning to make 5-8k on this car if they got it from auction or more if it was a trade-in.
Negotiate it down. Your leverage is that you can get a brand new 2016 with OK options for ~120k plus gas guzzler and sales tax difference. That buys you face lift, color of your choice, 0 mileage and 1.5-2 more years of warranty.
Unlike an Audi dealer Prime Motor Sport won't make a penny if you buy a new one, so they will be more flexible. ;)

So started talking to the dealer about this car today...this was my original color scheme when I started looking for RS7's, but I've started to lean towards something less flashy...the one option it is missing is the dynamic suspension...a little concerned about that.

It appears as though this is unique to the Audi exclusive package...I've seen these on the exclusive dynamic editions.

This car has an exclusive package, although the only real difference between this and the normal lunar silver interiors appears to the door panels, which I don't even particularly like.

I've found a few other '14's with the optioning I want with varying low miles in the $90-95k range.

There was a '15 exclusive dynamic edition with 5700 miles that just sold at Chandler Audi for $108k or so.

I'm torn between finding a nice slightly used model and saving $25-30k or just going nuts in about a year or so and ordering to spec and ordering from the dealer across the street from my office. Decisions...

Close to making a deal on this RS7...just can't pull the trigger yet. Not sure if I am cool with a REALLY nice '14 or if I'd rather just spec one out in 6 months or so.

If you're hesitant, don't do it... You're trying to talk yourself into it, and that's not a good sign!

Unless they come back with a GREAT price, that is...

Honestly, I'm not hesitant because of the deal..I think the deal is solid...more just the timing...wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing to wait it out another 10 months to a year.

But then again, you know what they say about opportunity knocking...afraid I may regret not jumping into this down the road.
