Hey boost, now that's going to be sick man. Hey is your roof going to be a one off or are they going to mass and make for other models say the b5's.

We were talking about it on AudiWorld and it seems that the roof is spot welded on to the frame.....spotwelded REAL good. See this link on how that sucker doesn't like to come off:

So...I am gonna have to go back and think about this some more on how to make this piece bond properly to the frame as it'll affect the ridgidity of the car.

Also if you thinking about a CF hood, you better get one now cuz our CF raw materials supplier in CA just ran out of CF for another 2 months or so. Well at least for what we want to pay for it because the new part #s they give us has a 60% price hike.

Damn that sucks oh well. Yeah I already have a hood was going to get the trunk too till I saw pics of it and it doesn't line up. I just might get the CF trunk handle part. So when does your car get back from Cali?

The Fiber Images trunk lines ok as far as I saw, but no point in it cuz we need to reduce weight in the front of the car...

Anyhoos, my car gets back around the end of the month. New kit and new engine goodies. Whoo hooo!

i think i read in one of the groupbuys you had cf mirrors? how did you make those?

10-14-2005, 09:03 PM
Jesse - I made one set for myself, but that was after I tinkered the thread insert on the inner portion of the covers into the right spot. The outer cover is easy to make, but the threads to place in the right spot on the inside is gonna be a b*tch.

So, for now, there is only my set...
