I'm posting this here cause I think a few of you will be interested in this.

AZ content: I saw Dave [flynn] at T-Hill, he was there with Navid (with his Evo) doing relay racing [race] . Sorry, but no pics....[:o]

Anyhoo, rally-x was a blast! It's auto-x except in the dirt. Technique is WAY different from auto-x. Took me a while to figure out that my late apex was killing me!

My GTX on the line.

As described to me: you need a team of several cars. One car from each team goes out on track (the rest are in the hot pits) for several laps. When that car's laps are done, he comes into the pits, a person on foot runs and tags the next car to send him out. Similar to relay (foot) races except no baton. The team with the lowest total time wins!

Hah! I was out there on Azenis! Actually did half decent, on Sun I was 17 out of 34 cars! Second day of rallyx, ever!

Rafael, if you still want to codrive, send me an email (or pm, or whatever)! [drive]

PM sent!
besides tire traction considerations, how bumpy is the surface? I'd like to experience it before throwing my car's super-stiff and low front suspension on an untested surface. works great on paved surface, but I live in fear of railroad crossings and speedbumps.
I regret not opting for adjustable C/Os in retrospect...

It is! Drop on by and check it out. If you don't race, there's no charge for spectators. SCCA allows passengers. If you don't bring a helmet, they have loners.

Haven't been to Altamont, but I'd expect the surface to be pretty bumpy. The start and finish will be on asphalt (tarmac) and the rest "off-road". They grade the course between run groups if they start getting ruts or jumps. You're not supposed to be getting air. T-hill was so bumpy that most of my incar video is useless (and gave me a headache watching it...). Although some of that might be due to my headrest mount.

The GTX is pretty low, I rally'd it in autox mode. Lost a foglight by the end of Sat. [:(] Probably cause I went waaayyy off course. I'm thinking about raising the c/o's for Altamont.
