Bluetooth stopped working.....

Hey guys,

So I recently had to reformat my phone and I went to go re-connect it to my car (which I have been doing for 5 years), but when I went to search for it, it does not pop up on my found devices. I tried to hit the mode button on the steering wheel but it does not bring up "no connected devices" anymore, nor does the speech command button work either. So I dont know if I cannot just get the car to start searching or become visible to my phone or what. Tried 2 other devices, could not see the car. The two other buttons to change the radio band or volume work just fine, but it seems the others are not responding. Any ideas on what might have happened or thoughts on what I might be missing? All suggestions welcomed, Thanks!

Also, have not used a vag com cable to see if anything gets thrown, don't have one, but I'll look to see where I can go that is not a dealership

To me those symptoms would all be present if the Bluetooth module was dead. Either it's not getting power (check fuses obviously), it's fried, or it's swimming in a puddle of water underneath the carpet below your passenger seat. If any of that is true, VAG-COM isn't going to talk to it.

sounds like it is dead. First step check fuse box. second step, make sure you are doing the BT process correctly. whenever i get a new phone it takes me a week to hit the sweet spot to connect them... but i'm pretty sure its because i try to do it after moving the car. so start the car, idling and then try to connect. but i've done that too and not been able to see it so who knows.

hmmm grrr. its weird though, worked fine up until i reformatted the phone. Going to have it looked at

I have the same symptoms as you describe with mine

When I scan with vag-com I gat a defective unit message.

Looks like I bricked-it while trying to change language to french!!!!!
