Anyone with the new B7 got DV in the car? I heard the one on the car is actually electronically controlled? Is it true?

So can we still upgrade or change our DV?

As far as I know, nobody has made an upgraded DV except for Forge MS but that piece is just an add on. It serves no performance upgrade, just the DV/BOV noise.

Ya, I think Forge's got one out for the B7, but it ain't a DV, it's in fact a BOV. I'm not sure if anyone is running that, but Pimplux has is running a BOV, if not 2?

I thought we're not suppose to run BOV, and Pimplux got 2?... interesting

DV is Divter Valve, and BOV is Blow Off Vale, there are alot of discussion about DV and BOV on the forum, check it out, I don't know where exactly, you might have to look for it

I don't think an aftermarket DV specifically for the B7 is out yet.

For more technical information about the 2.0T see this link... there's a page with some technical info on the DV....

Everything I've read so far, there's no need to replace the DV, and nobody has made an aftermarket version yet.

Forge does make the add-on piece that basically amplifies the sound, so you would get the "whoosh" that you hear from other turbo cars with a BOV.
The add-on piece is basically a piece of well-crafted metal(VERY high quality) with holes on it, so the air escaping must go through the holes, therefore making the "whoosh" sound.
From their test with a gti, it did not cause any harm nor throw any codes after (i think) 5k miles.
Everything is still controlled by the stock electronic module, so it really makes not much difference as far as the car is concerned, I don't believe the added resistence is enough for the car to care.
I have been running one on my car for the last 2 monthes or so. It sounds somewhat weird when you are not pushing it(low boost), but it sounds great when under high/full boost.
Under low boost, it gives the impression of "releasing air"(therefore sounds weak~~), under high boost, it gives the impression of "air shooting out" (what you usually hear with other turbo cars running bov)
I don't know if that makes much sense to ppl, but that's the general feeling of the sound.
I guess it really is a personal preference
