Always something with this car... I realize that hood latch cable is either broken or it snapped as handle is moving free. Now...how the heck do I open the hood? I tried from underneath but not enough clearance to see the latch. Bumper can't be removed because of top bolts underneath the hood.
So mad...[headbang]

When no body answers, sometimes it means we think you haven't searched since this has been discussed...a lot.

I did spent one hour searching and all I found was for B6. All that was after I spent 5 hours messing with that hood. I think it reached my time limit and frustration level. Is much easy to ask, right? Thanks for link! I will check it out.

I am having the same issue. I can't seem to find/see the latch that moves from driver to passenger side that releases the hood when I look underneath at an angle from the passenger side. I was able to remove the grill but I don't see the 3 10mm bolts that has been talked about in other threads that holds the latch to the hood(may not apply to my 2006 Audi A4 B7). Will check out the link provided above.

Go to harbor freight an buy the long screw driver. Its like 25inches i believe go under the car and a good flash light. You will see the mechanism i think is to the right. It takes a little force i can get it done in 10 mins. Once you do it once you will laugh how easy it is.

And to avoid future recurrences, fit 2 hood release handles and cables, one either side of the car.
That’s what iI’ve done on my B6, the same applies to the B7.

I'm praying that the day will not come soon. This is as sure as death and taxes, right?
