Hey everyone,
This is my second Audi...I introduced myself a few months back with an 06' A4 and I had a different AZ account name, but I forgot the password etc...so I have a new car and a new account :) So the 2006 Audi I had recently got totaled in an accident (of which I was not at fault). So insurance worked with me and awarded me a solid settlement in which I used to purchase this 2005.5 A4 Quattro 6MT. Same exterior color and black leather interior, but it has the color dash, sport suspension and 24k less miles than the previous Audi. Also a fresh PA 8/16 inspection and oil change. Hopefully this one will stay around for good :) Timing belt and pump done at 83k. Car currently just crossed over 121k miles.
First oil change I will get done at my mechanic's so that I can have them replace the cam follower and inspect the cam. I am aware on this year A4 that the cam follower and cams were not the updated version found in the 06-08.
Setting up this list of mods/maintenance to keep track for my own purposes:
6/15/2015 - Bought Audi A4
9/5/2015 - 122,000 miles - muffler delete + installed 3.5" exhaust tips (kept stock mufflers)
1/1/2016 - 124,200 miles - oil change 5w40 Pentosin synthetic + mann oil filter
2/27/2016 - installed Rev Motoring Sport Springs + new front strut mounts (kept stock springs)
3/2016 - installed short ram intake (kept stock airbox)
3/5/2016 - professional alignment + cam follower replaced by mechanic
6/5/2016 - installed Cupra R lip
8/2016 - 130,500 miles - PA inspect/emissions, 4 brand new milestar MS932 tires, alignment, oil change
2/4/2017 - 135,200 - oil change, tires rotated, CPU flashed "rest of world" to allow fogs w/ driving lights (while headlights off)
Pictures after I first bought it:

Do you have the same plans as what you wanted for the 06? Also, clean up those center caps! It's pretty easy to do, and it will look so much better!

Similar plans, yes. For now I just want to drive it [:)] And I plan on cleaning them up! They were cleaned by the dealer with some strong stuff and they said the paint just chipped right off [headbang] I'll be searching for a DIY for them shortly.
Good choice, congrats and welcome back!
Thank-you very much!

I'll have to get a picture up, but the center caps have been fixed! I've got some squeaks coming from the brakes, so I will be getting them replaced shortly. What's a good brake pad that you guys have used that doesn't throw all that crappy dust like OEM ones do? [headbang]

Thanks! Glad to be back :) Loving everyday with this Audi. More near future plans for it include brake job and cam follower for maintenace, then cutting out the rear mufflers and installing new *clean* 3.5" exhaust tips to get some sound out of it [drool][wrench]

Looks super clean inside for "kinda" high miles....No rips in the drivers seat leather??? Bought mine with 60k miles on the clock and drivers seat was ripped bottom left and upper left cushion [headbang]

No rips at all!! Not a single blemish on the interior or exterior (since re-finishing the centercaps)...It truly was an incredible deal. Ironically, the dealer that sold it to me had sold it to the original owner back in 2005 [>_<] so it was driven locally for 10 years out in eastern PA until it was traded back in at the same dealer. Pretty cool!

do the cam follower yourself. you'll be glad you know how since it will need frequent replacement, and it's stupid easy after the first time. Read the DIY and acquire the correct tools before you start. ;)
T-25 torx and a stubby wrench for a tight squeeze. the fuel pump is right on top of the engine beside the firewall, you'll see the metal braided gas line connected to it coming up from the back of the engine.

Thanks for the suggestions! Best part is - my mechanic that does my inspections replaced the last cam follower on my previous Audi for $50 including the follower lol, so I will just take it to him and get it done once a year during inspection/bigger maintenance needs outside my skill set.

Thanks! I love the color too. And yeah, I'm so glad I have no injuries or issues post-crash, just needed a new car [:/]
Sunny day in PA. I need to wash this thing badly.

Rear mufflers will be coming off Friday night after work and the exhaust tips are going on. [wrench][wrench][wrench] Very excited for the results! I am also looking into a heat shield and intake combination in the near future.
Here is a good side shot from the other day to show how well the paint matched center caps blend with the alloy.

Mufflers chopped out, 45 degree pipes and straight pipes to the back installed. The tips look fantastic. There is a video clip at the end of this post, don't mind my friend he was being dumb lol it sounds so deep and alive. there is ZERO highway droning and it gets really throaty around 3500-4000rpms. I love it! Highly recommend if you are looking to do a inexpensive exhaust upgrade to your A4. I'll try to get a better sound clip of it on the next few days.
I painted the pipe under the car with flat black rustoelum to help prevent rust.

Correct sir [up]
My mechanic has inspected my cars for years with no mufflers and high-flow cats etc. As long as the catalytic converter is working properly and there are no CELs for emission related issues, then they don't care if it is louder.

I want to keep this thread alive so that I keep documentation of the Audi [up]
I have since installed a short-ram intake and fabricated my own custom heatshield to keep intake temps low(er) since the intake is right next to the turbo manifold (I don't have any pictures of this at the moment).
I've also lowered the Audi with RevMotoring's sport springs for the B6/B7 which are designed to create front rake as well as be installed with the factory struts/shocks...in my case, the sport struts/shocks. I LOVE how it feels and looks. Definitely a huge upgrade over the factory sport suspension. Here is a link to my review:

I should clarify, it is a "color display." I think bulb out lights that show up in white and orange would mean you have the color display as well. It's pretty obvious if you don't, it's just the red display. I had that in my 06 a4.

Finally got a correct alignment with my mechanic and while he was at it I had them install a new cam follower. Glad this is taken care of!! Doesn't appear to be too bad. Definitely going to replace every 10-15k miles. Next time I replace it I'll get to see exactly how fast it is wearing. (I am not sure if this follower picture below is the original or if it was replaced)

Nice car! I have the same, plus or minus a few options. Been enjoying it since 2013. I have the stock sport suspension, stock 17's and 20mm spacers all around and really like the stance.
Curious if you have a sound video of your exhaust while driving (aka under load)? Our car's seem pretty quiet when free-revving no matter what exhaust they have...

Thanks man! I am really loving it too. I do not have an exhaust clip on me, but I have to agree, these cars sound much better/louder under load than at a dead-stop revving. I'll look into getting a sound clip!

That's the one thing about those lips. Trial and error to get it just right. If you look under my front bumper you'll see the many failed attempts to make it straight lol. Since it isn't visible unless under the car I could care less :)

Lol cupra lips are more resilient than you think! It all depends on the hardware you used to install it. With mine if my front lip comes off my bumper will follow 😳

HA! Yeah, I hear ya. I used polymer fasteners. The kind that you pre-drill the pilot hole, then put the rivet in and follow it with the screw/fastener which spreads out the rivet. So it potentially could rip off if I hit a rodent/roadkill or random debris, but coming out of parking lots or hitting on dips in the road won't move it.

I've yet to post one photo here for no particular reason-I'm sure I know how to and I will soon. The blackout job is fiddly and involves ~2 hours of prep and masking per side.AFAIK the trim is electroplated alloy but responds well to etch primer providing a solid substrate for the satin black. There is a masking tape that I bought that has a rigid plastic edge that can be poked up under the trim so that ALL gets painted as if some small bits miss the top coat it stands out like dogs balls lol.Expensive but worth it compared to a body shop in the US charging about $350-400 to do this job according to Nicks car blog ( a great read if you haven't previously ) If you want to know more after seeing pics I can elaborate....

Nice neat car. You may be able to improve on the bumper gap though.

Throw some tint and wheels on and you'll be lookin pretty. Also, bixenons are a must [emoji106]
Also, what factory options, mileage and price? Mine came with color DIS and 3 spoke wheel, homelink and cold weather package.

Did a little spring prep maintenance, oil change, tires rotated, tightened up the cupra lip, and then had my buddy config the CPU to "rest of world" so I can do the fog lights with running lights. Greatest thing ever.

Looks good!! I LOVE bixenons, but with my wife and I just having our first kid it kind of puts getting bixenons to the bottom of the list [emoji23]
Mine came with color display, sport susp, 3 spoke wheel, cold weather package. $7500 2 years ago with 120k miles. I am the second owner, previous owner had it dealer maintained since original purchase at the dealer. It has been a dream to drive and own!
