Hey all, I will make this short because I have to get going to work.

I just purchased an 2005 Audi a4 s-line with the 2.0 TDI ( I am stationed in Germany). The car was great...for the first week.. The car started having almost no power below 2k rpms but once over 2k rpms the turbo kicks in and its good. It blows tons of black smoke under 2k rpm as well. I pulled some codes with a cheap code reader and I got P0238 and p0101, I changed MAF sensor, and boost pressure sensor, I also removed and cleaned the anti shudder valve and EGR valve ( they were full of carbon). The car still has the exact same symptoms and I am ripping my hair out trying to figure out what's wrong with it. The turbo has about 10k miles on it and I checked the VVT ring and it moves freely with vacuum so that doesn't seem to be the issue either. I am pretty much out of ideas, so I could really really use some help guys! I know the TDI"S are not common in the US so this makes it more difficult.

Thanks!! Derek

I cant help you but the guys at tdiclub.com might. If your german is adequate then try a4-freunde.com those forums have a ton of active members with very good tdi knowledge.

But you might want to go back to the place you bought the car from. Especially in Germany there is good laws about warranty and such

Just giving an update for anyone in the future who may run into this problem. ( I've googled so much stuff with same exact symptoms just to read for an hour then they never post the fix) It ended up being the EGR valve, The little sealing ring on the actual valve popped out of the groove and made it so the EGR valve would not completely close. Thanks for the help Bazer!
