Good luck with sale. Incredible car. Sadness that it cannot be mine....

Hey guys I forgot to mention 2 things:

I currently live in Southern California. That is where the car is. I realized I had not updated my profile from NYC.

Also, I installed a H&R rear sway bar.

Mark you better fucking buy this thing seriously! If I didn't just buy a house I'd be moving my money around now to bring this home.

I have been trying to buy this car for over 2 years. I have had no luck though and may have purchased about 3 other cars during that period of time.

Markos you are more than likely going to get low-ball offers if you don't post up some sort of pricing information.

Low mileage RS4s around the 10-15K miles range have been going for 40-42K. Had to add: I am not saying this car is a 40-42K car.

This has been my secret behind the scenes attempt...FT and a few other know...and I think I posted once in a while here about my failed attempts to acquire some Papaya.

wow...Mr Obvious...I offered 56K two years ago...with basically the same mileage and mods. Wait the sway bar was not installed at that time...but came with sale :)

i honestly want to know what ppl think this is worth?

an RS4 with 35K miles on it now can be had for about 36K...this car gets color and mod premium for sure....here is my break down on my value of the car...did this over two years ago...and guess what prices have gone down since then. this list is straight from a doc that i used to try and justify the price it was offered to me back then for...

Ti pkg
2008
20"x10" DPE 3pc forged concave wheels
Michelin PS2 265/30/20
Have orig wheels and extra tires
Stasis MS
Capristo exhaust
50% tint all around
Smoked sidemarkers
Gloss black vinyl roof
Euro flat bottom
Gloss black emblems

3000 for capristo
500 for capristo remote
2000 for stasis ms
900 for euro wheel
n/a for oem wheel
n/a for oem ti wheels

50400
3500 for 20s with tires
53900

54000 would be a good price for all the mods

54000
3500 let him keep the wheels
50500 would be a good price for all the mods minus the wheels

pay tax on 40K car cost 54K
2800 tax

3500 for 20s with tires
56800 total for car with 20s with tires

based on what i posted above...i was thinking originally car was worth 44...

2008 glut orange

56,471
1,300 ttrs steering wheel
3,900 stasis ms plus install
5,100 capristo w/ remote (new) plus install
66,771

best part i just found...glut had 5.3K miles at the time and Papaya had 20K

glut orange with better warranty (2 yr/24K miles more) and lower mileage (20K vs. 5.3K miles)

FYI, I got it for much lower than your listed price. At the time, they wanted this off the lot so I was able to get it for a steal. If I were OP, i'd ask for the moon and I hope he gets it. Any RS4 owner will only benefit.

Yes, previous owner of mine bought the car for his son, said it was 'too fast' and decided to trade it in for an R8 for himself. [>_<]

Care to share what you paid for your glut? It would be one of the few comparable seeing as its also a super low production number, bright color, low mile car. I think that would help others here make "reasonable offers" for the OPs car. Of course if you don't want to say that's completely understandable.

I'd rather not say and honestly the dealership I bought it from didn't realize the gem they had, so I don't feel the price I got it for was worth its value. The dealership saw it as an ugly orange car that needed to get off the lot, lucky for me.

This is a very special car and will take a very special buyer to reach a premium price. Probably talking less than 5-10% of all legitimate RS4 buyers.
To achieve the ~$50k mark it will take a buyer who (#1) appreciates the color, (#2) appreciates the rarity of the color and (#3) appreciates the modifications.
It sounds as if the seller has some (if not all) the stock parts which is a plus for anyone wanting to return the car to stock. Typically mods only bring pennies on the dollar if they're valued at all in the transaction. Often when talking about an enthusiast car / cult car / limited production / collector type car modifications not only detract from the resale value but reduce the willing buyer pool. I'm not sure the RS4 falls into the "collector" category yet ... but there will be a day when it does. My opinion is that the seller is probably at that tipping point where the mods still have some value. There is a buyer out there ..... (ahem: SWESNA [;)])

All the green and orange Porsche GT3's are selling for an incredible premium over all the other colors. Even though Porchse made more orange Gt3 RS's than any other color, they still command a premium. It's what everyone wants.

I'm gonna say that, although to a lesser degree, the RS4 can follow suit. Far in the future, the orange's and greens will e the collectable ones over any other color, except for my Sprint Blue.

Not sure if the 07 Misano Red that was originally posted here for sale/or input into what it was worth falls into super low production numbers, bright color and low mileage but I think it does.

That car initially through feedback from ppl on audizine was going to sell for 50K...this car only had 10K miles on it...it struggled through multiple listings on eBay to probably get below 42K for it, maybe even below 40K. The buyer and seller both are on AZ. All know for a fact the seller was frustrated dealing with low ball offers after N number of ppl here got him thinking he surely had a 50K car to sell.

Unfortunately there are few willing to drive a bright car and fewer more willing to pony up an additional premium.

With that said...I am sure there are many that like the car but how many $$$ are they really willing to part with to buy a 08 with 35K plus miles on it, albeit wearing a rare color and having all the mods I would want minus the APR 1740 SC.

I at times think getting an Orange Limerock or Competition Package M3 might be a better deal and might even be under warranty still.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to the 07 Misano Red I bought from another Az'er. I would not say that car was in the "super low production number" category, but the Misano is certainly bright and, with 10k miles on it, it was (and still is) a low mileage car. I won't say what I paid for it, other than it was more than $42k, and a lot less than $50k. I'm sure the seller was a bit disappointed on the price, whereas I thought a paid a bit of a premium on it, which I was willing to do, given the mileage, given how meticulous the seller was with caring for the car, and given the nature and quality of the mods. All that said, were I still in the market, and even though the papaya has almost 4x the mileage of my car, I'd be willing to pay more for it than I did for the 07 Misano Red. Its that special.

interesting if you paid more than 42K ... are you counting shipping?? i got to see if i have emails regarding that car bc I watched it closely and was interested in buying both the TTRS and the RS4.

misano maybe not super low productions number but no doubt low...papaya and ibis convertible are at about 3 in North America.

54K with stock wheels is pretty unrealistic considering that's what RS5 with 10k miles are selling for..... The color should fetch a premium for sure.... maybe 5-6k over what similar cars with this many miles are selling for? But 20-15k above market isn't going to happen glws

I find that funny too. I have zero issue letting anyone know what I paid for all of my cars.

What I paid has zero to do with what I will sell them for especially my 98 C2S...paid 40K plus PPI, shipping and tax...surely would not sell it for that price.

48K never happen dreamer there. I mean do ppl have short term memory failure...regarding the multiple posting of the 07 Misano Red on eBay with the price dropping each time...think it went up one time after a drop and then an 08 Phantom Black Ti with very low mileage as well...went for no doubt below 42K bc the guy told me what he would sell it for...I was tempted but passed due to dealing with shipping plus already had two.

I found the eBay email from seller regarding the 08 Phantom Black low mileage one...I was off by $500

Dear willingboro_steve,

Bottom line 42.5K, this car is perfect.

In 11/2013, I bought my phantom black 08 with 42k miles, no paint work for $41k.

So tough to find anything without paint work or other stories now.

2008 Misano Titanium Exclusive Interior (57k miles stock), purchased in June 2014 for just under $37k including tax, title, tags.

I believe the dealer had it listed for $39k and I was negotiating price over the phone/internet for a day or two towards the end of the week. We came to an agreement on price, but I let decided I would let the car sit through the weekend and if it was still available I'd buy it. I guess after the salesman spoke to me he did some research on the car and they actually bumped the price up to $42k over the weekend. I kind of laughed at the price on Monday morning when I saw it and I was ready to buy it, but they tried to go back on our deal. Long story short I bought the car for the original price we discussed.

I don't even remember the comparables at the time, but I do know it was the first Misano I had seen for sale in probably 6 months so it was my own criteria that made the car worth a little more and I probably would have paid it. Titanium package was also very important to me, but I could have went either way on the exclusive interior. I hadn't seen a Misano/Titanium package for sale in ages that I could remember. The only other one was one in Raleigh that was traded on a Friday, they got the pictures up online and I called Saturday afternoon and a deposit was already made.

The price of these cars is really driven by the potential buyer and the options colors they want. I would never loose my ass to buy a car, but everyone knows that feeling when the one you really wanted gets away (women and cars) and if the next one comes along sometimes you'll pay the premium without hesitation.

Hit the nail on the head there. I think this Papaya RS4 WILL pull a premium, but over 50k????? I doubt it. The right buyer is all it takes.

Oct. 2014, I paid $45k including shipping + APR TVS1320 + motorsports + ceramics + stage3 clutch. 60,000 miles at time of purchase. Sprint blue/ silver interior + carbon accent (it really isn't white); paint is 8/10 and interior is 9/10.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I do still have the stock Ti wheels. However, I'm not willing to sell at this time in case a buyer wants them with the sale.

Ok, well if they don't like the non oem rims on the car. I'm interested as well.

Everyone stages up in the lot between the Corner Bakery and CVS. There is also a new Panda Express, Innovation Kitchen there. It's probably the nicest Pands place you'll ever set your eyes on. Supposedly the only one in the country, where they try new and unique dishes. The also have a beverage (Boba) bar there. I don't usually eat that food but it's there for anyone that comes hungry. Google it and check it out.

Doesn't appear Swensa judged Avus's wealth. His opinion was that he didn't think Avus purchased the car and that if he did in fact purchase the car, it would be a step up from his car buying history. Whatever the case is, Avus posting up "Sold" then not explaining anything pertaining to any type sale, leaves everyone hanging and speculating. All fair game here.

Yeah, that's one of the cars in the running. I have a few deposits around for a few makes and models. When I got the RS4 I knew, without any hesitation, this was the car I had to have. Lately, the new cars are more like flavors of the week to me. This week it's the SVR. Last week it was an AMG GTS. In between was a Ferrari FF. I don't know...my brain is hurting!!! And that's the reason I've hesitated a few times selling the RS4. I make up my mind I'm selling it to buy a car I placed a deposit for and when it comes in I don't like it as much as the RS4. This time I'm trying something different. I'll sell the RS4 first and wait to buy something new.

The SVR seems like a great all around machine. I like it a great deal more than the Cayenne Turbo or X5M. And comparatively it's better priced than the others. I have heard depreciation is less of an issue with the current gen RR's. From what the Rover guys are saying, reliability is not a big concern either. I decided to stick with my 2016 allocation, partly for the minor enhancements but more so to see if I still like it when it arrives.

Papaya, you and I need to get together. I'm in the same boat. I wanted that new Range Rover SVR but it doesn't come close in performance to the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. I can Get a Turbo S for a great deal right now. However, seeing as I just picked up a Q7 (needed decent 3rd row), I think getting another SUV is a little bit redundant. Still want one though

I might just get a E39 M5 as I've always been wanting one of those. Who knows what the cards hold but I'm looking everyday.

You're not allowed to buy any more cars. You've got the best of the bunch right now and one more will tip you over the edge. Your family will disown you and you'll end broke and desolate.

The secret is to get a warehouse and stash them there so she doesn't find out. And then when she does you go and get a dealers license, and so now I can say it's all for work.....that's what I did.

The problem with getting such pristine cars is that I feel guilty driving them. When I bought the Gt3 RS almost two years ago it had only 3500 miles. Little did I know it would be worth almost double what I paid now. Every mile I drive it I can feel the dollars shooting from the exhaust. The e24 M6 has only 32k, the 2.3-16 has 62k, the ACR 40k, and now found a r107 560 with 19k miles from OG owner. My damn RS4 had 9k after first year, 16k after second year, now five years later only 29k...... It's sad.

Enough of a thread jack. I met up with Papaya today and I can tell you guys his car is pristine. The capristo sounds sick, paint is flawless, and I was surprised at how little wear there was on the driver's seat bolsters. The passenger seat and rears look like they've never been used.

I'm most likely going to pass on it unless I can move this 993 targa I picked up recently in the next few days (swesna???? 67k miles, 6 speed and flawless). However if somebody else picks it up you will have essentially a one off, rare audi. Apparently the only other Papaya RS4 was totaled, but has been rebuilt but with a salvage title. Good luck guys, this is the one to have. It makes me wish I spent the extra 2g's when I bought mine (new for $64.5k plus tax in 1/08 with Audicare tossed in) and got an exclusive color.

Honestly...with how different all the cars are you mentioned, why not just keep the RS and add something? Money can't be a factor with those vehicles you've mentioned. And you're across the board between a RR and an AMG GT S.

I say just keep the RS and add a SVR. That'd be quite a stable. [;)]

I was in the hunt for a pristine RS4 and I actually reached out to Mark in regards to purchasing this beauty before he posted it for sale. This car IMO is probably the nicest example out there if you take into account the rarity (1 of 2). I did offer him a premium and wished I was bit more patient (missed buying it by a week) prior to purchasing my '13 M3 Comp. Mark - hold firm on what I offered you, worth every penny because you will not be able to buy another one! GLWS - if I could dump the M quick I would jump on this in a second.

Why did you need to be more patient and how did you miss buying it by a week?

Did Markos actually agree to sell it to you for your said premium offer?

I think you should dump the M quick to correct the big mistake you made.

Let me translate my post for you... dont talk about it be about it... your post does not mean much if you actually are not buying. if you even offered 75K and then went and bought the 13 M3 Comp...correct the mistake as your offer means nothing unless you were going to be patient and follow through. everyone that is not prepared to buy or has an opinion on the price is not adding value to a seller. this exact thing happened with the 07 RS4 Misano that had approx 10K miles on it.

Swesna - appreciate your $.02. Here are the facts, and $ was not the issue. I tried to buy the car 2+ months prior to Mark posting it for sale on here. Mark was on the fence about selling as he wasn't sure what he would replace it with. After a month or so I ended up offering him $1K more than the price we discussed - he was still undecided. I started looking at M3's as pristine 1 owner TI RS4's are hard to find. Purchased my M3 a few weeks ago and 1 week later Mark reached out to me that he was ready to sell - make sense? I moved on as I figured he would never sell it, I was wrong. Great car - best of the best. I do love the M3, but owning a car that 1 other person has is highly desirable and comes at premium.

i have two RS4 that originally were one owner until I bought them...no premium needed.

shit i have been living the scenario you described for close to three years...first he wanted 55K and I offered 54K...this was three years ago at 20k miles...confirmed this after reviewing my emails recently.

then he was interested again prior to moving from east to west coast...and we came close again but then he moved to west coast and shit the car was now going to cost me more money.

during this time i have acquired three more cars...one of which i sold.

But if you think you have made SUCH a big mistake step up and sell your car and get into this one. I dont think it is as big of a mistake as you believe.

I see your point now, but before it did seem to come off more how Mr. Wrong took it. If you wanted the car so bad before, why even negotiate over 1K lol? Hopefully it doesn't end up like the Misano, I never would have expected it to sell for so little. OP told me he had an offer of a pretty substainial amount IMO at least. Maybe he was referring to Jbeaus old offer.
Thanks 65. Offers do not mean much until both parties agree and at a minimum non refundable deposits made.

Even if I went full offer at that time I think the seller would have backed out because he was still unsure three years ago.

OMG, come on guys. I was going to chime in on Swensa's post as I understood exactly what jbeau's post meant. Since swensa didn't have the information that I knew, I could see how jbeau's post seemed a little disjointed. He was ready and willing to purchase but the seller wasn't ready which wasn't stated. I did the same thing to jbeau, he offered me my price and I didn't want to let the car go until I had it's replacement in place. I strung him along and didn't mean to but didn't know what to do. I was working hard to secure an SVR to no avail.

So jbeau, had to make a move and didn't want to wait. That's why his statement, "I wish I was a bit more patient". If he waited, he could have got Papaya's. He can still get mine but he's now got an M3 to keep him busy for awhile. Jbeau, if you sell the M3 and still want my RS, chime in. It'll be sitting in the garage, not driven, but being worked on to make it the perfect RS4, which it already is. Trickle charger, fuel stabilizer, and I jut ordered tire cups to keep the tires from developing flat spots.

I can only imagine what would happen if we had a fest like Bimmerfest. Everyone would be at each other's throats. There are more important things to be mad over than your fellow member.

Have a nice day and go blow off some fireworks and give Swensa a break. He did no harm.

Thanks Ed.

I can say this Markos is a very good guy. He no doubt does not need to sell this car except maybe if he has space issues if he does buy an additional car.

I honestly think if jbeau really likes the car and is willing to pay the premium...sheeit dump the M3 and get some Papaya.

I unfortunately am not willing to pay in the low 50s for a car plus shipping from west to east coast that has 35K plus miles on it. My 08 DG has grown on me over the years and actually think it is pretty cool color...looks like metal at times. Still would like some Papaya which means something nice in Spanish.

Thanks Ed and no hard feelings with Swesna. I should have provided more details in my post. In regards to your car, I was ready to pull the trigger but unfortunately our timing was off! I figured after missing out on 2 of the nicest RS4's in the country, I would venture over to the M3 which is a blast to drive as well. The wife won't let me sell it, so stuck with the M for awhile! Mark was nice enough to show me the car and chat with me for a bit. The car took me by surprise as it is honestly way too nice and absolutely perfect condition. I personally couldn't take the plunge. Best of luck with the sale or whatever you chose to do with the papaya beast!

Damn! Can't believe you are selling this and that it has such low miles. I always see you driving on my way to work. Serious head turner!!!

GLWS! Although, I hope you keep it as I love seeing it around town!

Never understood why people go crazy over rare paint... Looks great, but yeah I would NEVER pay a premium for a shade. You people are looking for rarity wherever you can find it. It's like those records that aren't all that impressive. Highest scoring game on a Tuesday in July.

LOL What.

I think he is saying that you could pay 5k for an exclusive color paint job, or pay a 5k premium on the price of an already exclusive colored RS4. It should all work out close in the end. Unless you get a certificate with your exclusive color that you can frame and hang in the rear window, then it might be worth it. Either way, Papaya is the shit.

Unfortunately it appears that the orange car for sale on ebay may have structural damage (wreck) ....
