Another AWE thread (sorry), but I wanted to throw my appreciation out to AWE, specifically Mike for answering my pestering questions.

Alan from Modbargains, you're the man! Got me a great deal on an AWE Touring w/ 102mm tips. Made purchase process super easy.

Quick video from the install today (not the best sound capture, but fuck it, I was too excited and just wanted to drive around.)

To anyone who is considering buying this: BUY IT. It transforms the car into a something else. Makes the S4 sounds like a V8 (well almost).

Yes, it is MUCH louder than online videos give it credit for, but super docile when you need it to be.

Yes, there is drone (1200-2000rpm going 65-70mph). If I'm on the wrong gear in comfort mode, usually 7th, sometimes the seat will vibrate ever so slightly. Not too bad.

Yes, the DSG farts are much more enjoyable.

The tone as you reach the upper revs is just intoxicating, gives you chills.

MUCH MUCH less drone after some break in, turning the "Engine Sound" setting to comfort helps a ton as well.

Sounds even better in person and I am sure your Lexus buddy is jealous. Thanks for driving me around and letting me experience it first hand. Drone is minimal/almost non-existent. It is now on the top of the list for the next part I'm getting.

How bad is the drone with stock DP's? Saves quite a bit of money to go without, but I'm afraid of the drone if I don't get them. Also, as an FYI, I see AWE actually talks about pulling the soundaktor fuse on their website to make the exhaust more pleasant. It's bank 1 fuse 5 on the driver side fuse box in case you want to go that route. I pulled mine after install of my ECS intake over the weekend. Thanks!

I drove it on the highway a few times, it's kinda noticeable at 1200-2000 rpm going 65-70, but if you have the radio one, you barely hear it. I actually didn't want to turn off the soundaktor, as I knew if it was in comfort mode, it would be more quiet. Honestly, go stock downpipes. the sound is great and the drone is there until you break it in. I think AWE offers the downpipes at the discounted price if you decide you want to go that route.

No prob man, glad I could help you out. It's tough dropping $1800 on an exhaust not knowing what it sounds like in person, I took a gamble.
