Hey guys, so my B7 is now suffering the dreaded failing glove box hinges but I have a question. It seems the door itself is cracking on the inside (refer to the picture below).

So knowing that, my question would be if something like these hinge replacements from eBay do the trick? (http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=111460468909&globalID=EBAY-US)

Any help/feedback would be much appreciated, thanks.

Open a beer, dump epoxy on both sides the repair hinges will rest, open second beer, screw hinges, open thrid beer, let it dry, open forth beer, nap

I cheaped out and made brackets from a piece of steel. Took an hour or two of cutting/measuring/bending. Screwed it in, JB weld, and its holding tight. Another cause of this is the glovebox shock - while you can drill the end and lubricate it, mine had actually seized - a new one was ~$20.

I didn't have thin pieces of steel laying around so I bought those same brackets off ebay and installed them. For $7 I wouldn't think twice about it. One suggestion: drill small, shallow pilot holes first and get the screws in tight so they are as flush as possible.

Not even $7, $6 with a best offer :)
