So my glovebox is stuck closed because the release handle does not catch anything to release. It pulls out normally but feels like something broke because it is so light feeling. I figured out how to open it after popping off the passenger side panel and releasing the glovebox manually. I can't tell what is broken underneath that handle and I can't figure out how to get the handle out of the glove box lid. Anyone that has some insight on this please let me know. Also if anyone knows where I can purchase that part to replace it would be nice. I'm sure the dealer charges something outrageous.

Post some pics! I had a similar issue, would help to see it visually.

The handle pulls out, but doesn't release the glove box

no idea but have you try to lock it and then open it, might grab on something

Had a hunch, went out to mine and tried it. If you push on the release on one end, the other end retracts also. So if you just pry off that plastic cover on the end of the dash, then push on the release, the other side will come with it and it will fall open....that is unless your hinge damper mechanism is screwed like most of them. But this will at lease unlock the thing so you can take your next step.

I have done that to get the glove box open, but I still don't see anything that allows you to remove the latch/handle.

Looks like a busted handle mechanism. Best thing to do is thoroughly review it to see what went wrong; perhaps a loose spring or latch causing the play. If not, might need to replace the whole door.
