295hp no lag definetly worth it in my opinion

For a b5 it seems like a good deal, but for a b6 I would go with APR stage 3+ for about the same amount of $.

he is talking the PES supercharger not the turbo kit

lol aww man..this is a very traditional question. I am with u mann...i guess the only way to find answer is to actually try it haha.

o yeaa it will be very hard for you to get a estimated 1/4 time with it...no one gives it out

1/4 time is around 13.8 I believe? "worth it" is an opinion.

dparnas has it...pm him. i think he's pretty happy with it and he's tip'd.

Here's my thinking (don't flame):

1. Turbos have lag.
2. Turbos require cool down periods or you risk coking in the unit - turbo timers.
3. Turbos require replacement after 50,000 miles.

S/C don't have any of those problems.....

if you rag on any car it will cause things to go bad

Audimarc

^LOL. It's not meant as a rag, it's simply reasons why he should by a supercharger. They have their own problems:

1. They take up a lot of space.
2. They typically use 15% of the engine's power to run them.

Turbos make more power. They have costs associated with them though.

Downsides to superchargers though are:
- Harder to intercool
- To up the boost you gotta replace belts and pulleys
- They tend to make less power than turbos at low boost operation because of the HP needed to turn them
- No cool turbo hiss

Upsides though are:
- Instant boost
- Awesome SC whine
- Less of a temptation to upgrade since getting more boost is more of a hassle usually (belts and pulleys etc)
- No boost spikes/boost control issues to worry about

"rag" on it as in "driving it like you stole it "

I know. I was comparing hp vs cost between diff types of kits for diff engines, but I guess he doesn't care about BT kits because he's not gonna sell his car for a 1.8T.

If you own a 2.8 and want silky smooth power then yes get the SC.

If you want loads of power and don't mind Lag and constant frashing of an engine then get the 1.8TQ.

I have both and they both offer different things.

Oh and there is one up for grabs if you’re really interested.

I've had mine for nearly 3 1/2 years and 40,000+ problem free miles, so yes, I think it is well worth it if you've got the $$. Best thing to do is find someone that lives in your area that has one and get a test drive. Go to www.superchargedaudi.com and you'll find lots of us there and we represent pretty much all across the country and world for that matter. We've got guys in Russia, Austria, England, etc...

If you want this to become a 1/4 mile king, forget it though. The Supercharger is smooth and effortless feeling power. But, you're not going to keep up with a Stage III 1.8T or a chipped S4. Best comparison I can think of is a stock S4 or slightly better. It also depends on where you live. If you live in an area with 93/94 octane premium gas, you're going to make quite a bit more power than California, where I live, with 91 octane premium gas. The 295 hp figure is definitely with 93/94 octane. I'd guess I'm running closer to 250 hp, if even that. But, for the time I've had the SC on my car, it has run like a champ and once I got over the disappointment that I wasn't making 295 hp, I realized that I love to drive my car and it rewards me every time I get behind the wheel.

The superchargedaudi.com community is also awesome for providing help and support.

Nah, I'm in Norcal. Danville is in the East San Francisco bay area. If you're looking to hook up with someone, go to www.superchargedaudi.com and post there about trying to find someone in your area. There's guys in Socal.
