After a couple of months passed by since I last logged into my account I found that my ECS store credit has disappeared. The customer service rep said I was calling on here-say(the guy had the balls to say that) and unless I had the tracking number for the returned purchase that resulted in the store credit the transaction never happened.
So heads up on any of you guys with ECStuning store credit, check your accounts to see you weren't screwed.

Another reason, besides stupid shipping, I use FCP Euro, GAP, eBay and others for parts.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have been. This RMA has been open since 2011, and we do not show any record of this item ever being returned to us. We are more than happy to help you with a refund, we would just need to see something, for example the tracking number for the shipment back to us, and we will promptly take care of you.
Please PM me with the information so that I can work with our CS Department Manager to get you taken care of.

I just sent back an RMA and when getting the RMA I was told I would be issued a REFUND... not ECS credit. I didn't pay with "Monopoly Money" so don't try to issue me that crap. I called in to check on the status of the RMA and was asked "would you like your ECS credit to be put back to your credit card?".... ummm, lemme think... OF COURSE I DO! That's what was supposed to happen!! I shouldn't have to do follow-up and ask for that. Maybe I should order new parts and send you back parts made of Play-Doh and expect a refund.
ECS... in case your missing the point here, maybe this will help:
THIS 'REFUND' POLICY AND PRACTICES ARE TO ME, SHADY. THEY HURT YOUR REPUTATION AND BUSINESS AND WILL KEEP ME FROM ORDERING PRODUCT FROM YOU.
Going forward, ECS will be my absolute last option on getting parts and products.

Appreciate your feed back. Likely the Customer Service rep was just following procedure. Some people ask for store credit and others ask for a refund to their account. As long as the parts you ordered are returned within 90 days you will be automatically issued a refund to your bank account unless mentioned otherwise.
We will accept returns for unused products that are normally stocked within 1 year from the time that the order was shipped. If a product is returned within 90 days of the original ship date you are eligible for a refund to the original payment method used. Any returns made within the remaining return policy time frame will qualify for an ECS Tuning in store credit refund only.
It is the responsibility of the customer to make sure that if they want a refund to their bank account they return the unused products to us within 90 days.

I specifically stated that I wanted a refund to my card. Never in my life, from any store, have I requested a store credit.

The product was returned well within the 90 day period, and I have in fact received the actual refund to my bank account. Perhaps the CSR hit the wrong button. It's possible. It still leaves me with a slimy feeling, which I will not soon forget. You may want to revisit the standard practice with your CSRs of issuing refunds first when within the 90 day time period.
I will say the gentleman that issued the RMA to me (Jeff Raskow) was very pleasant, efficient, and thorough.

It very well may have been a misunderstanding. There's no reason why we would with hold a refund if a customer follows the proper return policy.
Either way I'm glad it was taken care of.

I'm glad ECS made it right. For what it's worth, I've ordered plenty of parts from ECS and not once had an issue. I have asked them tons of questions in the past, and whether I ended up ordering the part right away, or postponed it for a future date, all my questions and concerns have been answered promptly through email or PM on Audizine. And to me, that goes a long way. My last item ordered was a set of windshield wipers, and it arrived earlier than anticipated, and packaged as if it was a glass jar inside

In my experience, the only competent person working at ECS is Jason. Thankfully he's the one who posts here, because if it was someone else we'd all be out of luck. Every single time I've called ECS I've gotten a complete moron on the phone who was of absolutely no help. One PM to Jason and everything was explained clearly with no issues. So props to you Jason, but why can't the other customer service reps be like that?
Also, PLEASE do something about those shipping prices. Its the number 1 reason why I don't shop there. I love supporting Audizine vendors, but I can't stomach paying those shipping costs. For example, I just ordered this (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/7l6919311/ES420449/) from ebay from an audi dealer for $11 shipped. ECS wants $11 for the part(which is fine) but then $7 to ship it! [o_o] I find it hard to believe that that little part should be anything other than free shipping.

Appreciate the words and the support! I do my best to try and handle customers how I would want to be treated if I were on the opposite end. Granted I'm not nearly as busy as Customer Service is most days, I can spend more time looking into issues and coming up with answers. Especially if it's a tech savvy question. Being that I am an enthusiast myself I can apply my knowledge and searching skills to dig up good info. I may not know everything there is to know but I have a wide range of resources available to me that I'm happy to tap into if it will help someone out. [up]
We've been taking steps to improve shipping as best as we can. $6-7 for a small item shipped is pretty standard for major suppliers. Occasionally you will find the one company that doesn't do as much volume as we do and can ship things for free here or there. We've downsized our smallest box so that it can ship for a lower price to help with small items. In the past we tried padded envelops but they don't offer much protection during shipment. The amount of damaged product customers would receive was a cause for concern, and eventually ended that option. Appreciate all feed back none the less!

I bought a condenser from ECS the other day and I didn't think my shipping price was outrageous. I think it was like 15$ for priority mail and I got the condenser in two days. I've always had nothing but good service/ship times from them. I order alot online and I think that their shipping prices are fair for my location at least. Usually shipping with them and Europa costs about the same.
Now Rock Auto is highway robbery.

Now Rock Auto is highway robbery.
And that's a shame, because they used to have good shipping. Way too damn expensive now though. Unless I'm out of options, I don't shop at rockauto.
