Hi there,
I'm planning on swapping to Akebono pads for less dust, I had them on my B6 S4 and loved the dustlessness. I currently have ~50k on my B8 and I figured I might as well swap to new rotors while I'm at it. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to go with the ECS 2 piece lightweights. For ~$1100 I can get F/R rotors & SS lines. Is this just a complete waste of money or is it really worth the weight savings? I do think they look pretty nice as well. I don't currently track at all, but MAY possibly do a day or two in the future (I'd be a novice). I have no intentions of ever doing a BBK. My alternative would just to get OEM blanks, which would be ~$300 for F/R rotors. Thx for any input!

I have hated slotted rotors on every car I've ever installed them on. I have a low mileage set of ECS rotors for sale if you want to try them out. I bought a set of solid Apikol 2-piece rotors and love them so far.

I have the jhm lw slotted rears to match my stoptechs up front... Only got them to match but they do weigh a fair amount less. Enough to notice? No but when other weight saving efforts are made such as fronts, lw wheels and removing spare in addition to the rotors there is a noticeable change. Small yes but still noticeable for those of us who are critical. Ditching my cats when I did headers also helped but its very hard to tell with the gains from the headers disregarding weight.

I'm running the ECS Cross Drilled and Slotted rotors... I consider them OEM replacement with mo real performance benefits (Maybe slightly better cooling)... they look better than OEM blanks...
I'd say if you can get light weight rotors and don't mind paying the extra they are worth it.
