So recently i installed the city lights from ecs, the led ones with the resistor built in. Sometimes after about 40 mins of driving, i get the "parking light out" on the dash and the passenger side bulb is out. So i turn all the lights off and back on, it come back to life. Ive tried switching the bulbs from side to side and only the passenger side one is going out...also getting a fog light out message for my led fog lights, and my lisence plate same deal except it stays my bulbs are out, and stays on for about 40 mins before they both go out? Can this clusterf*ck be solved with a vagcom?

I have heard of issues with ECS led bulbs.
Run VagCom diagnostics and it will say intermittent bulb out error, reset all faults and see if they return.
Try re-installing the incandescent / halogen bulbs and see if the errors go away and that will isolate to crappy leds vs harness.

I have the ECS LED's but have come to believe they aren't the problem. With mine it's always the pass "parking light" I think the error calls it. Leave the car running, get out and sure enough, the pass side City Light is out. Leave it running, pull the LED out and put a meter on it and I'm getting 0.11 volts to that side. The driver's side has 12.6 volts. I've done continuity tests back to the Central Electrics module of whatever you call it (behind the fuse box) and all is happy. So sometimes that little board just puts out 0.11 volts to the pass side. I'm just not convinced this has to do with the LED's.

Did you come up with a solution?

Is it possible to run leds and use vagcom to eliminate the bulb faults from coming back?

No. If you get the error, most people will add resistors.

Yes, I turn the light switch from Auto to Off, then to On and the error goes away. It only happens about once a month and I've put enough time into this so that's my fix.

I tried one of those resistors from oreillys auto parts and it works, but it gets so damn hot...
