Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and hope to be a part of the community for years to come.

I finally pulled the trigger on my Audi purchase. After the impossible hunt of finding the perfect 15' S4 in my area, I decided to custom build and order.

2016 Audi S4 Premium Plus 6-speed manual
-Ibis White
-High Gloss Package (Black Optics)
-Back Nappa Leather
-Technology Package (Included B&O system now)
-Carbon Atlas Inlays
-Sports Differential
-Active Dampening Suspension
-Badges

She should be here in about 3-4 months! I'll let you folks know how the order process goes and get some photos up when she arrives.

Thanks everyone.

I've been driving stick for the last 5 years and I don't want to stop now. Sure, automatics have gotten to the point where they are "better" than manuals but you just can't recreate the joy of manually shifting. I test drove two at my local dealership and fell in love. This will be my first AWD and forced induction car too.

Hasnt been suspect for me in the last 63k miles. and now I am tuned and still no issues unless I try to back to back asshole launch.

I just know from what I experienced being tuned and beating on the clutch. It is without a doubt the weak point on the manual cars.

What stock clutch will survive "beating on" with a tuned engine? That's what high performance clutches are for.

Congratulations! I just ordered a 2016 as well. In fact, almost identical to yours, though with a few less options:

2016 Audi S4 Premium Plus 6-speed manual
-Ibis White
-Technology Package (Included B&O system now)
-Sports Differential
-19" Wheel Package
-Badges

By the way, does anyone know which tires typically come mounted on the 19's from the factory?

Stock clutch, 80K, stage 2 plus NO ISSUES. It might be time soon for a new disk but she still holds-
I drive my car but have not dropped the clutch at 4000 plus RPM. They are not 1/4 cars so I just don't see the point. B8 2010, fully done.

Congrats on the 16 MT6

Very true. After having it for almost a week i can say i have no regrets now going with the S tronic. Just something about those 3 pedals and physically shifting. Nostalgic i suppose. And it is different than traditional ones. Audi did a great job

I ordered my 2016 Daytona Gray 6MT S4 a week ago today. I test drove both a manual and an automatic (automatic was never in the running) and would not buy the car if it wasn't available with a manual transmission. But I will say that it has the best automatic I have ever driven. It's just that for me, a manual completes the driving experience. Been like that since 1961 with ten cars and one truck (the truck doesn't really count since it's not a driving machine). I made the mistake once and bought an automatic because I thought I was going to tow a boat with it. Wound up towing with my wife's car.

So as long as I have legs that work, I won't go shiftless.

When did you place your order?

Mid-May (around the 15th or so).

I'm curious as to what the new prices will be. I know the base price of the S4 is increasing by $800 for 2016 models, but I'm not clear on the options yet. I read in one place that the tech package will now cost $2,300, and in other places that it will cost $4,000. Sure hope it's the former and not the latter! Anyone have any more definitive information on 2016 options pricing? The order sheet I saw didn't include MSRP for any of the options.

That is how 2015 Prestiges are equipped in the US. Audi's website (http://www.audiusa.com/models/audi-s4/configurator#50710-8K254Y_U_0_U_GWPTWPT-2015/H4sIAAAAAAAAAPN1CtMNNtE1MjA0rTE1MDc00LXwNjI1iYwPjT cAYvfwgBAggsi7mZopgECUr7K5h6Oun7mfbqBJoC6Q62ZoohBi GWJZU1MDAPSI7BhRAAAA) is still set up to configure 2015s and lists the standard features.

I can help you here. I have a price sheet for the 2016 which was used for my order. The Tech Package (PNY) is $4000. However when you order this package, a credit (PEB) is applied in the amount of $1700. So the MSRP does come to $2300 for this option.

The Premium Plus is $49,200 for the manual and $50,200 for the automatic.

Quick question, I've been browsing and searching the forums... Is it possible to stream music such as Spotify/Pandora via Bluetooth? I've seen conflicting information. I've already picked up a 12v to USB adapter for power.

Placed the order in mid-may and picked it up this past Tuesday at Audi of Tysons. They mentioned that it arrived sooner than they expected. Also mentioned that they may stop taking orders with manual transmissions very shortly (since Audi may cut off MT deliveries even before the B8.5 run is over).

Live in DC (so the 19" rims are in for a beating on our pothole-filled roads) but commute out to the boonies in western Fairfax County. Those roads out there are sweet! Love smooth asphalt...

I had thought that Audi was going to offer the manual through the end of the 2016 model year. I ordered a manual and would be very disappointed if they couldn't or wouldn't deliver my S4 with that transmission. I would have to cancel my order and start this whole process over again.

Boonies of western Fairfax? There really aren't any since that county is pretty much built out, what with 1.1 million people in its 400 square miles. I'm just three miles from the beginning of the Appalachian mountains and we have some beautiful roads out here for taking a drive. Lots of 2-wheelers come out on the weekends to run their bikes on these roads.

Been driving it around for a week now. Here are my thoughts so far:

1. The manual transmission took some getting used to but now it's very easy to drive. It even blips the throttle on some downshifts, and holds the car on slight hills so you don't roll back. Very nice.
2. Still not loving the pedal arrangement. Really wish the gas pedal was wider (or closer to the brake pedal).
3. Comfort mode seems way too disconnected. I just leave it on dynamic all the time.
4. Holy brake dust batman! Even after only 250 miles the peelers were caked in dust. Wow.
5. As much as I love driving the manual transmission, I get the sense that a DSG would be a better match to this powertrain.

But overall I absolutely love it! Now I look for excuses to go for a drive.

I also noticed how much brakedust the stock setup has. Have been driving mine for about 800 miles now and it doesn't take long after a cleaning for the wheels to get dirty again.

The DSG is awesome...in dynamic and sport mode, it really shifts well and does not let you down.

I always have it on dynamic with the transmission to normal drive. Going to sport is easy when necessary but even in drive the transmission is no slouch.

I'll do a write up of first impressions soon.https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xft1/v/t1.0-0/p180x540/12036751_10206578268928511_4231432654367007892_n.j pg?oh=1de8e760399d10d5493dfcb1a88943a5&oe=566585CBhttps://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/12004827_10206578269448524_5417797900181715589_n.j pg?oh=5573d9dd643da8a3ad5a0cd389bfccd8&oe=5696088B

Here are some first impressions after 4 days and 280 miles.

The good:
-Amazing torque and acceleration. This is my first AWD car and I love it!
-Sport differential works great. I can feel it going through turns under power. Like most have said, its not a power slide or drift feeling, more of a steering and correction feeling.
-I like the GPS on the Audi better than the system in my girlfriends 328i.
-The front seats!
-Getting used to this whole smart key system. Never even have to take my keys our of my pocket.
-B/O sound system is nice. Thank goodness I got Bluetooth streaming from phone working no problem.
-Adjustable center arm rest, great for manual shifting
-High quality interior, it took some getting used to the interior and controls but very thought out.
-I love the volume, mute, next track knob on the console.
-Love the flat bottom steering wheel.
-Sound under acceleration is great (although I'm pretty sure some of that is "fake" added sound)

The not so good:
-MPG could be better, but hey, that's not why I bought this car.
-No track select button on the steering wheel
-The electronic E-break. I guess I'm just used to a hand break. (BTW anyone know if the E-break is unusable over a certain mph?)
-Shifter and transmission are a bit softer that what I'm used to but its growing on my. (I came from a 2003 BMW 330i ZHP)

Thanks guys. More to come!

Thanks guys! Now to do tint and take my chances and remove the front plate. Hey Gusman, we are close by, I'm in Sunnyvale! I'll look into the FB page for meets and whatnot.
Another shot with the girlfriends 2015 328i.

I also came from a ZHP and it's taken me almost 2 months to get fully comfortable with the manual transmission setup on the S4. Now I really enjoy it. Though I still wish the throttle pedal was wider.

Hey again guys, a quick question regarding "break-in." They dealer ship said these cars are broken in from the factory and I'm hearing mixed reviews from others.

I picked up the car with 12 miles and now I'm at about 300. I've been keeping it below 5k rpms, only going to about 90% throttle but have done a few minor "spirited" pulls. I plan to continue this behavior until about 500-600 miles then really open it up.

Any other advice or experience as far as a break in period if any?

Just drive normal, you're thinking about it way too hard

Quick question for you guys, without starting a new thread: I went to order a '16 today and my dealer told me orders on '16's are closed. Is there any truth to that? Sounds crazy, considering we aren't even in the last quarter of 2015.

Just drive normal, you're thinking about it way too hard just make sure car is warm before you do any spirited driving. Temp gauge centered.
