Ok a few months ago I went to the drag strip and ran a crappy 17.0 at 82 mph. 60 ft was a sleepy 2.6. r/t was good though .005 on an LED tree(.000 is perfect). I was totally stock at the time. Only had a short shifter I only got one run in that night and it was the first time ever draggin my car, much less a turbo car- it showed in the 60 ft.

So I went back sunday before heading down to OC for H20 and after a GIAC chip, and replacing a failing 710-A with a 710-N, I ran a 15.41 at 87.7 with a 2.06 60ft (a little better). I also only got one run in but this time I figured out how to launch a Quattro turbo car. My r/t sucked, a 1.33 but I didn't care about R/t. I sat at the line swinging up the RPMS and building boost to get a good launch.

I know this is speculation but shouldn't a chipped b5 run faster? I weighed in at 3375 with me in it. I was thinking I could eek another few 10ths out of it but the more I look at my TS I don't see where. Although, I think the MPH is enough for a low 15 maybe a high 14 even.

drag racers, I need your input.

TIA.

That is about right for the weight and 60 ft. For every .1 you drop off the 60 you drop about .2 off the ET. To run in the high 14's you will be right around 90 mph. The one thing you just have to work on is shift points beause they will help the most in drag racing. With the K03 the shift point will be around 6k rpms since the air flow will peak at about 5800 rpms.

In Dragracing...a second might as well be a millenium. You shaved off quite a bit.

Yeah you shaved off a good bit! Good 60 and 100ft will result in good ET's. I always feather the clutch and almost drop it on the 'upward' swing of RPM during feathering. That way I dont spin any tires and still keep the RPM up without bogging. It might work for you also.

that is a great 60' time but i'm surprised at how you didn't get better 1/4 time with that 60'. are you manual?

So you were spooling up the turbo before launching? Is that what you mean?

yeah, I was reving the engine just past 3k per bitterchilds recomendations. It was a big help of the line. I think my problem was shift points. I was shifting at about 6800 I think. That's probablt way out of the K03's efficiency range. I'd like to try shifting at 6k or 6100 as Mike2ptzero recomended. BTW, I am 5 spd.

bitterchild- I will make a Drag thread for you too with pic [:D] We need to share you PNWNAGE of that Eclipse "GS?".

Are you guys picking on a 17 second GS? A good race is a K04 vs a GST.

LOL!!!

No it was a turbo car, albeit stock turbo. Probably just boosted to heck with a BOV of course. I want to say she had exhaust too.

Hopefully bitterchild will chime in with his results. I don't want to steal his thunder. [:D]

Well you did say "GS" which had a neon NA engine in it, same as the RS. Turbo model was the GST and GSX. I actually own a 95 GST.

Well, I said "GS?". The car was actually badged like that with a question mark at the end. I guess they didn't want people to know if it was a GST or GSX. I ran a few cars behind them so I didn't get to see the car of the line. I'd bet it was a GST though.
