Good evening Audi Fans,

SPEC: AUDI A4 2.0TFSI QUATTRO 2006 147KW 100.000 MILEAGE.

I have uploaded a video in the youtube. Its always better to show, than to explain in words. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77xHKCL6CZA&feature=youtu.be

Hope your cars are alright. Mine, is obviously not... [:(] Today, just like a thunder from a clear sky, came this s&%$. While I was standing in the traffic, my engine started to shake. I could feel those vibrations even sitting behind the steering wheel. It just felt i am driving a old diesel... During 1k-2k rpm car is not only vibrating but making a terrible noise like some kind of 6.0 liter American muscle (i am not saying American muscle is bad, just comparing the type of sound). I came home, parked the car and came two days after it, to see if that thing is still on... and it is !! I am afraid of even driving it, not to damage the engine more... Guys could you tell me, what is happening here? I am really scared in this situation. It looks and feels really bad.. Before going to the Car repairs, i want to look for some opinions from you.

P.S. I have an engine code of fault fuel injectors, and i can hear a bad sound during acceleration ( i think you can hear it in the video). I have bought new ones from the ebay, and i am going to change it on Thursday. Could it be related with this situation?
P.S.S. For the first time i have filled a tank with some kind of "special" Shell petrol in the station, can it make a difference too?

I am always servicing my car in time. Just changed Mobil1 oil (and filter), fuel filter, air filer. Also changed engine and generator belts with all the rollers, tensioners, water pump and other. Moreover fitted new high pressure fuel regulator (as had a fault code).

Any opinions are welcome, and all the help much appreciated.

Thanking You in advance.

And sorry for my English [facepalm]

Maybe it's your PVC or valve cover. You have the older rev valve cover which are known for the air channels to separate and leak. Any oil residue anywhere? Also have you checked your cam follower?

No i havent changed my cam follower. The thing is, everything was ok, and the car sounded perfectly (except bad fuel injectors). Engine worked like a bee, and suddenly in the middle of the city this thing started...

I hate to tell you this but that's exactly the same sound my car was making before i took it apart to find out that the intake camshaft and cam follower have been beating the living shit out of the each other. DO NOT run it any longer to prevent further damage to the engine, sadly for me the oil pump was seized from metal pieces that came of the High Pressure Fuel Pump which also caused oil starvation to the camshafts and upper cylinder block.

Good Luck

First thing you want to check is your Cam Follower, intake cam and high pressure fuel pump, these are the biggest failures on these engine from what i have been reading.

I hope yours has not ended up as bad as mine, my oil pump seized on me so i ended up replacing, timing chain, timing chain tensioner, intake camshaft, cam follower, head gasket, and I'm still waiting for my hardware to finish replacing my oil pump.
