Hey guys quick question here. I want to remove the rubstrips on my door panels I'm just worried about the water aspect of everything. I'm considering removing the rub strips today but I wont be able to close the trim holes immediately. If water enters the holes does it drain from somewhere?

There are drains on the bottom of the doors behind the lower door moulding. If you don't have those mouldings is on the inside of the door

So if/when water gets in the holes it wont damage or rust anything?

Why not remove the strips when you're ready to seal the holes? It's gonna look weird with those holes there anyway.

Because I have someone to weld the holes closed and I want it to be ready ASAP so Id rather not have to rush to get the strips and tape residue off when the guy says hes ready

Makes sense, I'd still tape up the holes with duck tape or something just to be safe though.

That's correct. You'll be fine if fir a shirt duration. If you did this during winter, I would say remove the strips the day of as salt water will kill everything
