View Full Version : 98.5 taillight bulb holders

I just picked up some new smoked tails on ebay. The bulb holders from my current lights do not work since they are 96's, and I tried some from an 00-01 and those don't fit either. I need more of a stagger in the #2 and #3 bulbs. I'm trying to find a picture of a 1998.5 bulb holder where the reverse light is higher, as opposed to the 00-01 where it is low. Hopefully that's the part I need to order but i want to make sure first.

I had that same problem putting 99 tails on my 98.. If you order bulb trays for a 99' you will be fine and they will plug in just fine.. Just make sure all your bulbs are good and that you get the proper bulbs for the 99' bulb tray cause i ended up troubleshooting alot cause I didn't put the bulbs in the right spot... Sorry don't have pics but let me know if you have problems acuse I can email you some pics or tell you where the right bulbs go..

by 99 you mean where the reverse light is #2 from the top rather than #2 from the bottom like in the 00-01 style, correct?

The 00-01 holders I have are shaped like a capital L from the side, I need ones that are shaped like a staircase.

Exactly.. Here is the order:

Top: Fog Light

2nd Down: Reverse Light

3rd Down: Blinker Light

Bottom: Brake/Night Driving..(Make Sure that the bottom bulb is double functional cause you will have no brake lights at night..)\

All of the other bulbs are single Fillament.. I used all of the bulbs from my old lights except for the Brake/Night Driving just to be safe.. You can get those bulbs almost anywhere and when you look it up make sure you tell them its for a 99'.. Hope this helps. Marc

Sorry.. I will be a little more clear.. Yes, the bulb tray goes down just like a stair case.. You dealer should have it in stock and I think they were around $30.. As for the 2000-2001 lights I think the the reverse light is the 3rd bulb down so those bulb trays are out of the question.. And even if they did work you need to rewire the plug....
