Hey all,
I'm New to this forum and new to the Audi family. [;)] Big shout out to anyone from Brooklyn, NY.

I've recently purchased this baby and I've done mostly cosmetic mods. I will very soon get started on performance mods. I will need advice from all you peeps because there's simply too many choices out there and I am overwhelmed. [o_o]

But in the meantime here are some pics of my S4. I'm going with a Darth Vader Theme. I'm a big fan of the Dark Side and come December 2015 I will roll this baby to the Premiere of Star Wars Episode VII in my Darth Vader costume. \m/

yes original , but audizine has this sad fascination with affiliating their cars with star wars characters

i think we have 2 "vader" cars already

Congrats on the car and welcome! True - several "Vaders" but all good. Maybe you should go by Darth?
Nice rims! Not so sure about the red on the exhaust tips... front looks half decent... never been a big fan of stripes on cars... works on some cars I guess...
Yeah - a few nice performance bits to choose from... but really, not THAT many. Nothing like the aftermarket scene for Jeeps or Mustangs or Hondas. Nice thing about what's avail for this platform is that many if not most of what's offered is of good quality and have years of real world use...

No idea its such a sin to theme my car vader. Like I said I'm new to this forum and new to owning an Audi. I'm just excited to geek out my car. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Sorry if I did.

Thanks MrFunk. Awesome nickname! haha thanks for the "Darth" suggestion. I'm probably gonna just do this Vader theme for this year. Had no idea there are several vaders around. But honestly once I remove the vader decal and red details its just like any other Black on Black car. I did consider going Black Optics for front Grill but Darth Vader is known for that cage link grill of a mouth so I kept it stock. Maybe I'll black it out. Or I'll have something custom with thick vertical grill to really go with the Vader theme.

I'm new to mods. This is my first car mod that's why its so overwhelming. But I've done my research and I do have a list in mind. APR ECU FLash, Erocode Intake, H&R Springs, Eurocode Tuning Sway bars, end links and Alu Kreuz drivetrain stabilizer, AWE Exhaust, etc.

I'm actually surprised that no one has commented as to why you have so many badges on the fender.

Overall, looks pretty sweet man. I like the red on the front lip and rear. Would PERSONALLY ditch it on the exhaust and the "Adidas" striping.

congrats!

ps. I'd consider EPL for the tune. ( and by consider I mean, I'd go EPL )

haha I figured everyone is de-badging, why not do the opposite and embrace the badges. I'm a badge whore I must say. I'm sure this badge phase will pass and I'll de-badge it eventually.

What's this like the third Vader? Looks great but maybe go for DARYH like mentioned above. Lol Are there any white cars on the forums doing a particular theme or just the black cars?

Unlike some Im not going to tell you what to do with your car.. But it is a free country so Ill say the exhaust red is a bit overkill, IMO, however Im curious as to what they used that will hold up to the heat?

Also, are you in the US? Cops here in Florida would tag you all night long for having the red (or blue for that matter) reflectors on your car ....

Sounds like a good mod list... one piece of advise... if you are lowering with springs I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting proper dampeners (shocks and struts) to match or going with coil overs...

Haha sure will ditch the V6T eventually. I just wanted to go overkill first and then strip it off when I don't want it. At least I tried and know that I don't like it. I'm not hating it yet but I will eventually remove all badges and get my buddy to fabricate custom ones.

Thanks for the input. Yeah I agree the red line on the exhaust is overkill. I wanted to try it and share it. That's what the forums are for. I will eventually remove it. I'm switching out my stock exhaust anyways. These 3M reflective tape are pretty good. Hold up well. Been through car wash 3 times already.

I am in the US. I'm in Brooklyn, NY and cops are notorious here for pulling you over for window tints. But so far I've been lucky. I've actually pulled up beside a cop car and chat them up. They were nice and complement on the car and said the red reflective tape is not an issue. It's so minimal. And motorcyclist use the red tape on their helmet for more visibility. He said it's good that I have it on a black car. It helps with night visibility. Haha. They said the blue ones are the issue. Definitely NO blue reflective tape.

Welcome!

I actually really like the car! Always appreciate different and unique looking rides that aren't too over the top. And who can't appreciate anything related to Star Wars?!

I agree though, red on exhaust tips is not necessary and should be removed. Here's an idea, you could wrap your rear diffuser in a carbon fiber wrap that has the red twill in it. So, it'll be subtle but not blaring and tie in nicely with the rest of the car [:)]

Really like the set-up and what you've done so far!

And please post more pics!!

Thanks! Yeah I agree the red tip exhaust is a bit too much. I'm gonna remove that. Nice idea on the red twill fiber wrap. I might just do that. I will update with more pics after I get some performance mods done. Next stop is exhaust, swaybar + end links and Suspension and springs. How's your Bilstein PSS10 treating you? I'm considering going that direction. And also how's Armytrix holding up? I was seriously considering Armytrix but I'm now leaning towards AWE + Non-res downpipes.

Thanks man! Yeah it is a harsh crowd but its all good man. Its an open forum. Everyones opinion is welcome here. I really like your S4. I really wannted monsoon Gray but there was none in stock at the Manhattan dealer. I was so close to getting the A4 and thank god this black S4 caught my eye. And obviously the dealer's eye went *bling* *ka'ching*. haha. I'm having the hardest time keeping the black pristine. Once I'm done with the Vader concept I am gonna vinyl wrap it Matt Gray.

You're welcome! Just wrapped mine last week and turned out great! It was only $180, so if it hadn't turned out well, wouldn't have been a bad loss.

Love the PSS10's. Fantastic coilover setup and one of the best, if not the best setups for our platform. LOVE the Armytrix. By far my favorite mod so far. Having a valved exhaust is fantastic. Quality of Armytrix is top notch. Guys at GMP have installed many high-end systems...Akrapovic, HMS, Capristo, etc. and even they were impressed with the quality, especially for the price.

AWE sounds great and is one of the better sounding systems. I would have probably gone that route had it not been a must for me to have a valved exhaust.

Swaybars + endlinks + AK are mods I'd like to do as well! Good choices in mods! [up]

I might just go with the PSS10s man. Just spend a bit more and do it right the first time u know. I was gonna just install H&R sports Springs and everyone was like NO! haha. Your lucky to have shops like GMP. Most shops here I've contacted are not familiar with Armytrix or don't carry it at all and they're mostly recommending AWE. Thats why I'm considering AWE.

Yeah, I'd do it right from the start and get coilovers and not springs. Not that springs are bad but they are limited. Also depends on your needs and what you want to do with the car. Springs might be plenty sufficient for what you want to do with the S4. But if you coilovers are a possibility, the Bilsteins are great!

Not many carry Armytrix bc it's relatively new to Audi, at least compared to the other major brands. GMP did not carry Armytrix but because it was what I wanted, I suggested they work with Armytrix and become one of their dealers. Ended up well because mine ended up being the first 2015 S4 to have the Armytrix system installed and bc of the larger sports diff, the system did not fit as it was meant to. Armytrix worked with GMP and ended up doing some custom work to have it fit properly. Now GMP is a dealer for Armytrix. So, if you prefer the Armytrix, I would suggest you speak with your fav shop and encourage them to reach out to Armytrix.

Because in the US, it retails for $4k. Gotta pay to play! It's not even the most expensive exhaust for our platform either! Lol! Akrapovic, Capristo, HMS...all more expensive and upwards of $5k.

id rather get custom for a 1/8th of the price

Good to see another local NYC'er. Good buddy of mine is Media Manager for MHT (owner of Niche), my A5 is the car in their catalog sporting a set in matte.

Sup man! Seeing your car and that Lemon Lime S5 with the Niche Vicenza in the catalogue pretty much sold me! I had to get it no matter what. But damn! the NYC streets are tough man. Especially in Brooklyn where I live. Where are you in NY? Any Meets I should know about? And your ride is so low. What suspension or springs are you running?

Thanks man, Steve put together a killer shoot for Niche. Kinda wish I didn't sell them, but I don't think the 20x10.5et25 would have fit the s4 anyway. Traded the A5 in for a 2015 S4 in Feb. Sorta enjoying the stock ride height for the moment, but will probably put the air ride I took out of the A5 into the S4 at some point. I'm out in Queens now, but I used to live in BK at the corner of Tillary and Flatbush. Some great photo spots down in DUMBO if you ever want to shoot. Haven't had a ton of time for meets, nothing really great in the NYC limits, I typically go out to LI.

Yeah Dumbo is great. That will be my next location shoot. Which shops do you go to for mods?

Anything tire related, Intrack. Typically I go over to Tyrol Sport, but they are expensive, granted they do amazing work. Good friend of mine owns Tuning Works out in Copaigue, so that is where I normally go for general modding.
