I just put a refundable deposit on 2015 Porsche 911 GTS coupe' white w/aerokit cup manual 7 speed pdcc/pasm and a hand full of other great options ,I like the loaded 2014 Audi RS5 just doesn't engage me enough when driving hard ! with the tax credit looks like $70k trade allowance in , $2500 off porsche plus $25000 down my payments are $300 more a month to get my ( rocks off ) the brakes and the engine carbon build up worry me a little on the RS5. QUESTION IS can some one here talk me out of this ???[rolleyes]

Pretty sure carbon build up will happen on any direct inject... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Had no idea until reading these forums on carbon build up . I agree with ya ! , the suspension needs upgraded IMO to coilovers , exhaust , brakes , appx$ 10,000 , wheels and tires upgrade 10.5 x 20 $4000 close to $100,000 build and no manual trans...

I'm also pretty sure carbon build up is an issue on any DI engine. If there is no fuel going in from the port, then there is nothing to clean off the deposits.

I would not let that be valid reason for changing cars. That's just the way of the future. There are plenty of other valid reasons to change to a 911 GTS though. A traditional 3-pedal manual is a big enough one on its own.

The RS5 is a very fine ride, if it had a manual transmission was 300 + lbs lighter and better brakes i think it would be a keeper for sure...IMHO

Saw a white GTS MT at the P-dealer just yesterday, wife sat in it and smiled. $135k, I winced. Great car I'm sure but not really apples-apples.

Was that the gts at Rusnak ?

This isnt a fair comparison. If you can swing a 911 GTS then jump on it and never look back! The RS5 is a great car for what it is but the P car you are considering is in another world.

Exactly. Two different cars. If I could afford to jump on a 911 (whether it now be the GT4 or the 911 GTS), there is absolutely no reason not to from a performance stand point. As someone has said it in another thread, there are P car's , and then there are others. :)

The Cayman GT4 is completely sold out. Only 2500 will be made. You can't walk in and buy one.

991 GTS is an awesome car. I wouldn't hesitate.

i was going to try to talk you out of it in favor of a gt3, but it looks like you got the manual 7 speed so i won't.

RS5 looks better and sounds better. Any non-turbo or GT3 porsche kind of bores me, honestly.

Laughing at the blasphemy comment. Porsche does have a devoted following. I haven't driven one in 25 years sold in 90 my 72 911s ( weber carbs). That car had the most beautiful tone upon simply closing the door. But damn that TTO n that thing was serious. Damn I 'm old must b y I golf. Enjoy your new wheels hope u smile each day. Good luck

[drive] FUNNY STUFF

Don't throw rocks I know it's a bit off topic. Has anyone taken the f jag r all wheel drive out for test spin? Really pretty design ( I know it's like tacos) am curious to c how the r engine mates to the all wheel. I took an older maybe 2013 xf-r out for a spin felt like driving a 70's Chrysler engine outran the chassis something terrible. The F should b very rs5 like.

You are wrong - the solution is to have a small amount of fuel put in the manifold - Toyota started it and I think Audi has started on some of the newer engines.

it all comes down to personal likes/dislikes. If we were all the same then everyone would be driving the same car and model and we would not be having these fun blasphemous discussions. I love my RS5. I looks great, drives great on my personal windy road, and with a press of a button is a very comfortable daily driver. I used to love the R98 until I drove it and decides that the RS5 is the right car for me. Used to love the GTR until I drove it.

So OP, more power to you for getting what you want. Enjoy it

Wrong decision! It will be a harsh ride with more speeding tickets. Be prepared to shell out a couple of 0000s for speeding tickets. LOL.

Was just at Porsche this morning looking at the GTS. I'm sure my wife would kill me if I traded in my RS5 and got a bright orange GTS. But that car is awesome, good choice!
