I have been complaining about micro scratches on glossy plastic window trim caused by dealer carelessly washing car. It has been cured in almost all times when car is in direct sun light. I went dealer who said buffing would take tare of it. IT did NOT. I then went to M& M auto detailing in Glastonbury CT. He contacted 3m. 3 M said applying 3m pro over the plastic frames would hide the scratches. I went there his staff applied the film, the person applying the film said he had done this on several audi q5s already. We tried one frame, put it out in the sun, It worked! He did the rest of the car plastic window frames. That was on March 25, 2015. Only once since then have I notice the scratches,also in very very strong sun at a specific angle. on all other occasions no hint!! I am very happy . A car that perfect before the dealer touched it is almost perfect again.. The price was reasonable $175 retail , I got wholesale price that was even more reasonable. I sent the bill to the GM of the Dealership and he sent me a check. The film & labor is guaranteed for 7 years. When I posted a few months before someone had indicated trying this, but being a newbie , I did not understand plastic film and how it works. much better solution than replacing the plastic trim pieces and tearing car apart to do it. Elegant,it works and it was cheap. No longer worried about my putting more scratches there, I always hand wash or use touch less car wash AND WILL NEVER LET DEALER WASH or DETAIL ca. [:)]
