will be here Friday!! I am going down to Modbargins later next week to have my alpha cooling system installed and I am hoping they can install it! I got the cooling system in December of last year but the stroke set me back just a bit. Here is a picture of the new wheel:

I got this one from Alex@Europrice. He got the brand new wheel from Audi....got the carbon fiber wheel trim from Matt @ oCarbon and I am not entirely sure where he got the carbon fiber paddle extensions from. I am also using my own airbag. I am adding a bunch of carbon fiber to the car. I already have the MMI surround and coin holder delete from Matt...And I have an assume pair of c.f. exterior mirrors as well. I am changing the RS4 grill to an all black version, I am adding the rest of the Enlaes c.f. body kit (front splitter and side skirts). When it's all done, I am going to have the seats done just like the RS7.

They're located on Russell and Valley View. All great guys and definitely know their stuff! http://carsnv.com/ I would highly recommend them and I'm sure pretty much anyone else here in Vegas would also.

Thanks bud!! It would be nice to not have to take the wheel and c.f. mirrors to Modbargins (not much room with the cooling system). I will run up there this week and see if they will do both installations!! When the rest of my body kit shows up, maybe I will have them install it! I would, but after the stroke, I don't think I could do it yet!!

VADERS4
04-15-2015, 11:54 PM
Also, is there someone in town that could clear-coat or ceramic coat the mirrors and body kit?

Forgot....I have carbon fiber supercharger covers coming from "Senner Tuning" in Germany. Their expensive, but beautiful!!

first off that o carbon dude is not someone people should be supporting, his business ethics are questionable at best, secondly there is some asymmetry on the wheel with regard to the paddle shifters, look at the gap on the top of the paddles relative to the wheel? I am assuming you are OCD about your car? this would bother me.

That might just be the angle the picture was taken at or how the wheel was laying on the table.

I have seen Matt's (oCarbon guy) work and it looks really great. Have you had bad experience with his products and/or service? Curious because i have been contemplating purchasing some of his pieces but have not actually done any business with him. It could be the angle of the picture but I do see that "gap" you are talking about on the left paddle vs the right paddle which doesn't seem to have a gap.

I was the first person to request (just for me) the coin delete and have it made. I was the first to request the carbon surround for b8.5, and also order the mmi trim.

All took nearly a year for the transaction to fully complete and get my core money refunded. My silver trim on my mmi surround is 5/10 at best and I was told, that's how they all are.

Wow, a year is most certainly a long time. What do you mean by "my mmi surround is 5/10 at best?"

Hmm, seems like Europrice is getting these steering wheels done and have them in stock. So, at least don't have to deal directly with oCarbon and have that kind of transaction wait time.

The silver trim that goes with it has pretty big gaps between the carbon and the trim, enough that I can see the tabs of the silver ring.

Not sure what has happened with the mirror housings Matt@oCarbon is doing, but my interactions with him over the years have been positive. I hate to see something like the mirror group purchase problems tarnish a companies reputation, though I suspect he will make good on the product or refunds when able. He is a good person and the product that I have used on these steering wheels has always been top notch.

The steering wheel trims that he does he tends to build and send here when they are done. So for the most part I will have 1-2 trims in stock, though some do have to be built, just depends on when cores go back and he builds the trims. Then they can easily be installed here with wheel packages so customers don't have to go prying trims off, changing controls, swapping badges, etc.

The paddles are available here: Shift Paddle Extensions | Post-Facelift Carbon Fiber (http://europrice.us/shift-paddle-extensions-post-facelift-carbon-fiber)

They are produced by MAcarbon and they are exceptionally high quality and they do command a bit of a price for them.

If anyone has questions on the wheels, carbon trim or paddles don't hesitate to shoot me a PM or email: [email protected]

Cheers,

$675 JUST for the paddle extensions? They better be gold plated at that price! That seems a bit excessive for two small pieces.

WHOA! $675 for the paddles! Was loving them before but loving less now after realizing the price! LOL! Steering wheels does look fantastic though.
I know I am going to regret asking you this Alex but would you mind pricing one out for me?
I have a 2015 S4 w/ black/lunar silver interior and carbon fiber trim. (Let me know if you need any further information)

I am interested in pretty much the same exact setup as Vader. RS4 flat-bottom steering wheel (air-leather) with carbon fiber trim and carbon fiber paddles.
Forgive my ignorance but I am not sure how the airbag part works and if I'd transfer the airbag from my current steering wheel to the new one? What do people usually do? What would be best for when I'd sell my current steering wheel upon receiving the new steering wheel? Better to sell with or without an airbag?

Thanks in advance!

Feel free to PM me at your convenience. No rush, just got my tax refund, I like seeing it in my bank account and not disappearing so quickly! Hahaha! Thanks!

You have a PM with pricing on the same wheel setup and info on what to do with the stock wheel, etc.

As for the troubles in that thread. I am fairly certain Matt@oCarbon will make good, but I totally understand people's frustrations. He's fairly timely with getting the steering wheel trims over this way, occasionally there are delays which I understand and he's usually fairly open about the delays when I inquire.

I would consider adding the carbon bits to my stock wheel though

im not really sure how you can sit and advocate for the guy when he basically pulled a whoudini on the mirror cap group buy, and as far as i know still owes a few heads money nor has he delivered said product in almost 1 year!

I'm not advocating for Matt@oCarbon. I'm stating my experiences with him and his business. Plus I also stated that I understand the frustrations of those people in the mirror housing thread, however I can't change the outcome or solve those issues, if I could assist I would. The products he's delivered here and to customers directly have for the most part always been within a reasonable time frame and high quality. Aside from that I do agree he needs to figure out the issues with the buyers in the mirror purchase and I hope he does it soon.

see heres the problem. hes still doing the little easy stuff, and stringing these other people along for the ride...

its one thing to realize after the fact that you may have bit off more than you can chew, but its all about COMMUNICATION! when that breaks down and the excuses start flowing and my email was broken, my account was hacked etc etc

its all bullshit, just admit fault and give the money back, those poor guys waiting for mirror caps, and all you want to talk about is steering wheel inserts and coin delete holders...knowing full and well about the other shit going on? those things are not mutually exclusive and its up to REPUTABLE VENDORS and CONSUMERS alike to draw a line in the sand and not support something if there is a conflict, people need to understand that for every action there is a reaction, if you are content to do business with someone who does bad business then that reflects on you and your company as well, think about that for a minute.

And THAT, my friends, is one reason why I decided to custom make my own MMI surround. Luckily I didn't get involved in O'Carbon at that point or I would still be waiting. I did order mirrors, but cancelled and received my refund thankfully.
I (personally) didn't like the idea of having a full MMI carbon wrap, but do acknowledge the interior would benefit from more- just not everything.
Here is what I did (in just a few days too..) Since this pic- I have made another one where the CF is better aligned. If you look closely, you can see it's not perfectly level. It's all part of R&D!
